I’m inspired to keep this through going all weekend! Even if it’s just me bumping it for myself.

I really miss watching this with my dad. Every Saturday night he would let me stay up late in the summers to see Sven. We would just laugh at the lamest jokes and the old monsters. I was heading out one night when I was 16 and he stopped me in the kitchen and asked if I wanted to watch Sven because it was the Bride of Frankenstein, I just laughed and said no then left. He never asked me again. I haven’t seen an episode with him in nearly 15 years. He’s still alive but it’s hard with life and getting older and we aren’t very close to begin with. This was probably the only memory I have of us bonding over something.

I remember when they had Battlestar Galactica for a while.
I'd love to see Swamp Thing, Outer Limits, and Night Gallery again. Those were on at 4am or 5am. Looks like they stopped airing them.

A lot of the svengoolie content now is repeats. They got some kind of package deal from the studios on very old movies and it's the only way to make it economical. Think of it like a modern drive-through movie, you want to watch with a friend or friends and shit-talk it, either online or in person. The movie itself doesn't matter so much. Even the adverts are memed to hell in chat.
