Buffy season 2 was better than the best season of Sopranos. Better overall plot and arc and it was funnier and darker. Also, not filled with a bunch of greaseballs.

In complete agreement. Personal preference is that Buffy Season 3 is peak of the series, but season 2 was fucking stellar. A step up in literally every way. Say what you will, but Spike torching vampire kid was the metaphorical signal to the audience we're flipping the script.

Peak of the franchise is Angel Season 5 which to this day has my favorite series finale.

Best character in the franchise is Wesley. He went from ponce wannabe watcher to stone cold badass capable of doing the things team Angel for the most part refuses. Also it took the entire Scooby gang to drop Angelus, whereas this go around it just took Wesley and Faith. That didn't happen by accident.

Wesley and Lilah were a great duo. I wish they paid the actress who played lilah more money instead of using that that terrible one tree hill level actress as her replacement.

Cordelia, Buffy and Willow were the perfect mix of hot high school chick. Then you had miss calendar. Faith came later. Whedon had a great eye for talent.

Based takes in this thread. Wesley's character alone carried S4 of angel and by the end of S5 he's not only the best character in the Buffyverse but most of tv imo. And to think he was just some throw away comic relief wimp in Buffy S3.
