It was the most ambitious puppet project the world will likely ever see. So much artistry went into every frame. The puppets filtered a lot of people, but I think it could have been huge had more people just given it an episode or two. In short time, they stop being puppets and really felt Iike living breathing characters.

It was good show made by good people and I wish them to find funding elsewhere and make more seasons. Luckily there are no actors aging/dying, so they can just pull the stuff out of warehouse and continue the story in the future.

the gelfling puppets were always so ass
they hung the whole movie on them for them to have zero ability to carry pathos of any kind

the skeksis and augra were incredible and could have been the stars of a billion dollar franchise but they stuck them with punch and judy main character puppets that couldn't convince a five year old to care

Dark Crystal is the best thing netflix has done. It's incredible we got it at all.
That being said, I imagine most of the budget went to things they could reuse for s2, so it must have bombed HARD if those greedy hacks thought they couldn't get any more value from it

What does Netflix even have anymore? They cancelled Dark Crystal, Dark ended, Everything stranger things after season 1 was mid at best and they are taking so much time to develop the new season that Millie really is going to be the age she looks (40) by the time it airs, they fucked up both Witcher and Altered Carbon into oblivion, Godless was decently good but not as good as Paramount´s 1883, they canned 1899 too and even the new Dragon Prince seasons have been pretty forgettable. Queen´s gambit was good but it was a one time thing it seems...

It´s honestly really worrysome to see prices keep going up without new good shows to match.

One of the reasons I eventually cancelled my Netflix account. It's just a graveyard of shows that had potential that were cancelled for no good reason.
After the 5th or 6th time it happened I just cancelled and I rarely even pirate their shit now.
