I've only watched normal FWWM and TMP but then also Comaland. The Comaland edit is great and I'd consider it the best way to watch all of FWWM.

I still think as a movie the theatrical cut of FWWM is hard to beat, just for how focused it is once it switches to Laura. But I think the Missing Pieces scenes work so much better in the Comaland cut than as a disjointed string of isolated scenes in TMP. And I also think that if you're watching FWWM in between season 2 and The Return, Comaland works a lot better as a bridge between them than FWWM does on its own.

i also don't think it should be overlooked how much music improves some of those scenes when added with care, specifically thinking of the dinner table scene with pennsylvania 6-5000
and then little added things like combining the shot of the church at sunday morning mass and the scene of mike doing his fire walk with me ritual with the candles,
or splicing in the log lady hearing laura and ronette's screams, or fading from the dinner table scene to laura whoring with the trucker
there were so many little moments like that where i felt like picrel

This movie was a giant fuck you to fans of Twin Peaks so I don't think it can ever really be salvaged as a legitimate part of the story beyond what Lynch did with it during The Return.
