F1: F2: The Next Lap should be about a team of Indians rallying together to defeat the British aristocracy on AND off the tarmac.

Why would you even watch it
F1 itself has been ruined by americans, imagine giving your valuable time to watch a "movie" of it

This.
Ive been loosely following the sport for over 25 years. It was already a bit of a boring shitshow half the time, but at least there was an elitist vibe to the whole thing.
Since drive to survive and American ownership, its turned into full reddit slop, and this movie is the cherry on top.
I refuse to watch it.

Can we expect more F1 content coming down the pike? When is direct to streaming sequel without Brat Pitt? F2?

It was always going to be stupid but stuff like the clumsy female pit stop mechanic made it absurd

Got back from it, and I'm a casual on-and-off watcher. gf has never seen race in her life and enjoyed it cause "it was like Top Gun with cars"

visuials are pure kino
plot is stupid as fuck and brad pitts "strategy" would get him banned but I'm watching this for the Kosinski kino
music is always good with hand
the romance side plot was meaningless

seeing hamilton shill las vegas during the pre roll ads was funny
Anonymous No.212401988 >>212402221
>>212401422
Not really, it mostly follows the standard sports movie "underdog-to-first-minor-victory" formula, and it's about cars going fast in circles, pretty easy concept. And the movie itself shows a lot of exciting moments and omits boring parts of the race.
My gf had zero idea about formula 1 and understood and enjoyed the movie. Her main takeaway was "tires are most important element of the formula 1 race".

It's actually pretty good take away, especially after keeping/changing/using different type of tires is almost the main source of drama between the characters in every race they show.

Just to clarify I'm not saying a girl didn't "see" the film I'm saying they are incapable of watching a film. Their eyes see the images flashing on the screen but they do not absorb what's happening.

It is very much like the new Top Gun with cars. Both have a grandpa in the leading role, nice visuals, shallow plot and way too many women and niggers.

there are some obvious similarities, mainly how they approach the action (shooting practically as much as possible) and in the story which, like tgm, is about an older veteran returning to something they did in their past to help out a rookie. theres some less overt similarities too, like how f1 uses licensed music to give parts of the movie a party atmosphere similar to the way tgm uses permanent sunset weather, but thats minor. where f1 falls apart is in the less sympathetic lead, both in writing and in performance, the stakes being lower, the action being less varied and story having a weaker emotional center (pitt and the nigger coming to respect one another is less compelling than rooster learning to forgive maverick). f1 is "top gun with cars" in a sense, yes, its just a much, much lesser version of top gun
