Other than that faggot Johnny Cage killing Scorpion there was nothing wrong with the movie.

I still remember watching MK at the Drive-In during the summer when it released. It was incredible, if you weren't there at the time you have no idea how huge the hype was surrounding this movie, it was a cultural moment. What made it even better for me was that after the movie ended, I went to the concession stand during intermission (Drive-Ins typically show Double Features) and it turned out they had a MK 1 Arcade there. I don't remember what the 2nd movie was because I spent the next 90mins crammed around this arcade machine with 20+ guys, people coming and going, but everyone hyped as fuck talking about how awesome the movie was, how amazing MK 3 was, and other guy shit.

I was a child but old enough to know they replaced that hot piece of ass veronica vaughn, raiden(though ajax did ok original raiden is king) and more importantly that wasnt Johnny Cage. So already my three favorite characters are replaced so that was annoying then they killed fake johnny cage.
I can tell you that mortal Kombat annihilation was the first movie I left the theater hating and other than the mudfight scene I've watched it maybe 2 times this century.
Mortal Kombat annihilation taught me the feeling of being deeply disappointed in a movie. I wasnt even 10 yet.

When you boil this movie down there was no real tournament or rules etc. It was just random fights and then out of nowhere Shang Tsung is like "I get to choose the final fight after Goro".
