I saw this yesterday, why the hate? it is easily the best movie Marvel has done in at least the last 3 years.
It was fun with a nive touch of dry humour, not the quipping "wink""wink" shit so prevalent in Marvel movies, diverse without being not in your face, etc.
I hope more Marvel movies were like this.

The scene where they go up the shaft was ridiculous. They. Can't. Stop. Quipping.
The only decent scene was the superman fight.
Then a woman is about to get crushed by a giant boulder. And instead of getting the woman out of harm's way, they all push the boulder slowly so that they can have the PR picture.
The entire team goes into the shadow realm to dodge slow-mo objects and literally nothing else.
Oh and the resolution to the main threat?

Your post explains what's wrong with it, it shows some promise for the future direction of these movies because most of it is dedicated to achieving that goal instead of being a solid standalone movie.
Avengers should be comprised of heroes who are impressive in their own right (they have their own movies) before teaming up for a mega-budget spectacle. This is more like GotG where the protags interactions are the main selling point.
It's a strange approach to rebuilding the franchise, it would make more sense to do a Nolan on it and simply do individual movies, rip off the best action-oriented cinema of the last 20 years, slap a Marvel sticker on it, and sell it to the public. Thunderbolts seemed to both recognise the need to freshen up the formula but still too samey, a B-side to the real Avengers.

It depends on what you mean by independently. In the comics. Sentry and Void could operate on opposite sides of the planet in the comics and it was understood they were the same person. In the movie, Bob and Void share Void Rooms, with Void telekinetically able to troll him, Bob able to navigate them, and Bob sharing a mental bond with him that the Void hoped to exploit at the end.

In the movie it's pretty obvious that they're the same person and the only place they can physically interact with one another is in Bob's imagination zone.

What they would have been much better off doing would be to have Sentry and the Thunderbolts face off against a major villain during Thunderbolts and then maybe in an after-credits scene show something happening somewhere else in the world with Void and none of the characters knowing what was happening or that it was Bob.
Instead, they blew his entire story arc in a single throwaway storyline which left zero impact and meant nothing.
The characters are all likeable and have potential but the story was fucking terrible and they deserved to lose money.

I kind of agree with you Anon and I liked the movie. The first half is just extremely terrible. It's them unnaturally dropping exposition for every character to recap for those that didn't watch their shows and it's extremely dull. Also the politician lady's plan to kill them is completely nonsensical. Why not just have a bomb that blows up the entire bunker without a giant red digital countdown?

Also yeah for all it's hyped up to be a team movie, it's really just Yelena. All the other TBs have nothing to do but dodge debris in the final act.
