What are your criteria of being the better actor.
In my opinion its an ability to make his characters believable and great, and while Stallone is probably better at former (although Terminator Arnie is perfection), most Arnie's characters are all timers while Stallone only has Rambo and Rocky.

The thing is Schwarzenegger is known for his natural charisma and having his characters basically be exactly like him. Stallone has a lot of range and differentiation among his characters, hence why Rocky and Rambo are all-timers whereas I feel Arnie only has The Terminator. I mean Dutch, John Matrix, and even Conan are bland and forgettable and somewhat blend into eachother.

I don't know, man. Neither of them have any real acting capability. I think Arnie just got really lucky. The directors carried him.
Verhoeven and Milius were well established directors when they directed Total Recall and Conan. Cameron didn't quite have the reputation yet, but he came out swinging and right after Terminator he gave us Alien so it wasn't just a fluke.
By comparison, Marco Brambilla had directed zero films before Demolition Man and went on to direct nothing after. John Avildsen had directed a few films before Rocky but they're all low budget garbage. Same with Ted Kotcheff, who, aside from Rambo, directed one (1) other notable movie in his career.

The only rival for action kino to Arnold is Jackie Chan. Stallone is good but outside of the Rocky movies he’s Jason stathan tier
