televsion writers are liars. they, in factual reality, did NOT want all the children who watch The Simpsons to NOT watch The Simpsons. LYING does NOT absolve them of their sins and instead highlights their dishonesty through evidenced knowledge of willful deceit. Television writers are this demonstrably BAD people who deserve just punishment for the evil actions they have committed and continue to choose to commit borne from their evil, selfish nature.
