>James Gunn‘s “Superman” is set to launch an entire new DC Universe, but the writer-director is not feeling the kind of pressure one might think. Gunn, who is also the co-head of DC Studios with Peter Safran, recently told GQ magazine as part of a cover story for “Superman” star David Corenswet that his movie is “not the riskiest endeavor in the world” as some are painting it as.

Yeah, but it’s not as big as people make it out to be,” Gunn said. “They hear these numbers that the movie’s only going to be successful if it makes $700 million or something and it’s just complete and utter nonsense. It doesn’t need to be as big of a situation as people are saying.”

Gunn knows Jurassic World annihilated all the momentum this movie has and he's preemptively trying to shift the narrative so he's less humiliated in his own eyes cause nothing he says will stop people from seeing him as a failure.

He’s right tho. To the simpleton pajeets everything has to make a billion dollars for it to be “successful”. But that’s not true. Man of Steel was an awful movie, but it was considered a win by the studio because it still made just under 700 million. This is a Superman movie coming off of Snyders DC movies which brutally damaged the brand, audience good will has been lost, Snyder has ensured audiences are sickened by DC characters, so it’s an uphill battle for this movie.

I'm just so tired of the discourse around what is clearly a huge bomb that WB split into two just so they can soften the huge losses they're about to face because they dumped billions into their last-ditch attempt to usurp Marvel, who's already fucking dead and gone.

If you don't support this movie that will be it for anything DC movie wise. Specially for those Snyder weirdos out there. Do you think they will restore the Snyderverse? They won't. DC will be sold to another company or worse. Gunn and Snyder are huge friends. Gunn and Snyder just did an episode of Rick and Morty together and they seen together in the WB lot. Gunn is the best chance for anything Snyder related be brought back again. So if you're a Snyder fan or a DC fan, please, go support the new movie. Even if you don't want to watch it, just buy a ticket and gift the seat to someone you know. Help make this movie a success.
