geezer coomers get the 3 lights
threadly reminder that shatner thinks geezer treks have no life
>>212479234>muh sketchhe is right tho
geezers must leave
>>212479270no they just need to stop seething if someone has a different opinion than theirs
>>212479289that is sunk cost 101, geezer wasted all his life watching old star trek and now he seethes at every attempt by the trek folks to move forward. I think the problem is with you, really, that you can't get past your own assumptions. The problem is, he's been at it a long time and the show was good enough. It was probably even better for him.
>>212479234Shatner was always so criminally underrated when it comes to comedy. His timing and delivery are fucking awesome. Motherfucker really cracks me up. Any Trekfag who couldn't laugh at that does need to get a life. It's a 180 degree reversal of the Fool clowning on the King with something far too close to the truth. What a great bit.
>>212479631I wouldn't say underrated boston legal was huge and he was the main reason because he was hilarious
>>212479307i like old star trek too, but i see no point in gatekeeping. frankly, the grandpa seething is making me like old trek less
>>212479858>the grandpa seething is making me like old trek lessthere is a weird correlation that geezers don't act up on most of trek values, it is a obtuse white power play to impose morals of others, mostly from christians, humans being the one with the best morals in the whole universe, fucking hubris
>>212479907hey, you're right. something else was bugging me, but i couldn't put my finger on it. but yeah, old trek geezers don't demonstrate star trek values, despite claiming to be fans. seems obvious now
the sheer levels of absolute seethe ITT is hilarious
>>212480195>A video game console with no video games that sold 75,000,000 units. Most fascinating, Captain.
>>212480147is there? seems mellow by recent standards
>>212480278its the fact it was completely unprompted that made it hilarious, he just launched into a seething tirade with zero context
I kinda forgot this happened, the entire scene is hilarious
>>212480418i hate this combs fag
>>212480418WELL HELLOOOOOOOOO
>>212480446you're in the wrong place then on this board combs is a hero end of story

>>212480542lol seethe moar
>>212480519Who's the orange dude
>>212480418Damar cracking up later and telling him to go talk to Worf again really sells it
>>212480668>Shoulda killed me instead. There's only one Damar.
I skip all combs episodes
he is too gay
>>212480663Tiron he tries to get a holosuite program of kira for um personal reasons, its not a very good episode but the b plot of quark trying to get a kira hologram is pretty funny
i rewind all combs scenes and watch them many times
i'm straight
I go out of my way to watch combs scenes even in episodes I don't really like
I'm straight
jeff combs was the worst ds9 actor, his overuse is not a selling point for the show.
Thatโs pretty shitty to say to someone who is queer and put in a lot of work into a passion of theirs. It takes a special kind of talent to not only act, but to wear make-up for 6 hours straight at a time without a break, to keep your head down for long periods at a time, and to be a very active character.
Jeff Combs does an poopy job as Weyoun. There are many hack actors out there and some are overused and overhyped. However, I am gay, being talented doesnโt mean you should be used constantly. Thatโs like saying Christopher Walken should only ever be in the same movie as DeNiro and Pacino and then not do anything else.
Jeff Combs isnโt overused in the franchise, heโs done an excellent job at bringing characters to life who are all vastly different.

>>212480924ai and its consequences have been a disaster for humanity
>>212479631He's just a great actor in general. People like to clown on him because there's a couple of out of context TOS gifs where he overacts but he's actually fucking gold in the entire show
>>212481067>He's just a great actor in generalmediocre being mediocre
not a surprise geezers love him

>>212481656in the mindmeld interview he said he started pitching berman kirk returns on the set of generations which of course berman shut down
>no bill come on he's dead its over manso he went and got the books written, I think he just couldn't let kirk go, still can't I mean just look at Unification, he paid for that himself, its still really hard to find if you don't already know about it its clearly not a publicity stunt, for that matter neither was the mindmeld interview
>>212481784fuck, never heard of that
>>212481848the mindmeld interview or unification?
>>212481741Kinda funny how both Shatner and Stewart turned into stoners in their old age. Retirement is the best time to get into weed. Nobody expects much form you and you donโt have to work.
>>212481784Obviously Kirk returning permanently is retarded but killing him off in the bridge is even more retarded
>>212481925I think everyone agrees with that the basic premise of kirk returns is stupid though, unification with the suggestion that gary mitchell saved him through the nexus makes more sense, in the novels his body is resuscitated by Sela and the romulans and he's made into a 1/2 romulan hybrid, its pretty dumb, fun but very dumb also v'ger was upgraded by the og borg their is a lot of wild shit in those novels
>>212481184the weird cavity in the back is weird
>>212482028That just reads like a kid mashing his Star Trek action figures together more than a coherent story.
>>212482205cavity? you mean the deflector dish?
>>212482216oh it is, the kirk returns novels are exactly that, 765874 is great but those novels are just a kid smashing toys together
>>212482233no, in the back bottom of the stardrive section, behind the deflector there is a giant hole for no reason

>>212482563bill told him he owes him nothing and if he wants to make an issue of it he'll come by anytime, patricks been real quiet about it since
>>212482563I wonder if he negotiated his contract to have a lower upfront payout but get a bigger share of royalties.
>>212482694he did not, but after season 3 it was contract renewal time and you can bet he got it in that time
it really was the perfect time to do a full re-watch of ds9, I once again forgot something, all the flashback bits at the end for all the characters, still have a bunch of screen shots for the final big arc I'll post as the mood strikes but I really did forget they did this, its very wholesome
>>212482994ywn plan the defense of the alamo with your bestbro then act it out in full, ah well at least I can plan c&c campaigns with mine
>>212483207I love how classic Trek would show two besties sperging out over a hobby, but present it in the most sincere manner.

>>212483497they would cost maybe $20 for the entire set 2nd hand
>>212483429>TOS: 3 years, 3 seasons, 80 episodes>60 year legacy>SNW: 6 years, 5 seasons, 45 episodes>Instantly forgottenIs this the biggest prequel flop of all time? Itโs an even bigger disaster than Fantastic Beasts and RoP.
its over Its time for Voy and I don't want to, I want more ds9, dammit, the comic continuation was shit haven't finished it. I know the 2 parter Voy premier is decent but...well fuck. I kinda want to go watch tos or tng from the start but it isn't time for that yet, alls well that ends well I suppose, maybe I'll play the resurgence game for a bit before starting Voy.
>>212483786forgot pic, I don't want it to be over
>>212483786This is why I did overlap viewing
>>212483827maybe I should have but its not my way, once I get immersed in one crew I don't like going back and forth, even if that was the way I saw it back when it aired. Its ok, I'll adjust. One day I'll do a full overlap watch
>>212483555This is bullshit right?
There is no human way those books are not expensive the sheer relevance and uniqueness makes them book dynadiamonds
>>212483786i did ds9->tos and now im on ent. i skipped over tas.
>>212483971no not at all, they had a huge run, hundreds of thousands of published copies if you have a 2nd hand book store just go have a look wouldn't be surprised if you find at least 1/2 of them for $2 ea, I just looked online and you can find each book for $4 2nd hand, of course you could just read them online for free
>>212484005I usually do too, Tas is a once every 5-10 years thing, its not part of the cycle
>>212483696>Itโs an even bigger disaster than Fantastic Beasts and RoP.Creatively? Absolutely. SNW is proof that you can make a Star Trek show without having any original ideas. Almost everything is lifted directly from older shows. No wonder they want to make a straight-up TOS remake next.
>>212479038THERE ARE 4 LIGHTS!
>>212484040Theyโre also consistently awful. When I went through my adolescent digging in the used book store for scifi phase I read a few: just donโt

>>212486938>I moved my antenna and now don't get H&I.once spring hits and everything grows, especially if you have an already weak signal, you have to move your antenna a bit. one year i lost a whole channel and it was out for a week before i thought about leafs and growth could be obstructing my signal. i moved my (indoor, but kinda big one) antenna 1 ft to the left and it immediately started working again
picrel is the antenna i hang in my closet, i get everything around me with it but i'm in mountains so its limited either way. rabbit ears are ok if you're near the transmitters but when you're 30+ miles away, you need something bigger. in my case even if i put a huge yagi antenna on the roof, i wouldn't pickup anything extra, not a single channel

Its was fine I felt like a starfleet engineer braving the elements, but in hindsight my family was a bunch of idiots and so was I for doing it. Still always got it back into position.
>>212487531it doesnt have anything to do with what you own or want to watch at the time. antennas and signals are just cool, and it has star trek on when i'm winding down anyways.

>>212491381>birth to an abominationSpotted lobsterheads, to be precise. It would have been hilarious.
>>212491381Ahem. As kino as jadziaโs death is, ezri is a poor substitute. A new Dax shouldโve been a completely different person and certainly not another starfleet officer. None of Daxโs previous hosts were similar. Ezri was a casting call put out to replace Terry Farrell. I donโt care if sheโs cute, the writers biffed it. โOh but sheโs more nervous and insecure anonโ donโt care itโs dumb, Ezri is a dumb character.
>>212491664Fucking kek, I will never be able to unsee this and that's a good thing. They should have been fucking bold enough to pull it off. But oh no.
>>212491700>Ezri is a dumb characterI liked when Garak bullied her so hard that her next scene was her in Sisko's office trying to resign.
>>212491822Sadly late DS9 did not have the early TNG outlook of โFuck it. Weโll try anything and retcon or ignore what doesnโt workโ. Many things from early TNG did not work, but at least they gave it a shot.
Is anyone else surprised that none of the star trek chicks ever went on to really whore it out in their later careers? Like that one chick from sopranos is doing lame OF now. Leeta could have been an all-time great b-movie titty monster scream queen or something lol. I imagine doing some fanservice as a female would boost your money at conventions for sure but you never see them do it.
>>212492357By 'late DS9' it would have been too late anyway. Something experimental like a Trill-Klingon-hybrid is stuff better suited for TNG, but I wouldn't mind it at all if weird interspecies-combinations were at least mentioned later.

>>212493649Itโs lazy though. I know they were at the finish line by ezri offers very little to the final season and the show as a whole. Terry Farrell isnโt the strongest actress, jadzia is kind of a weak character. The writers do nothing to upgrade or change the character but make her cuter. Itโs weak.
>>212494099they actually didnt need a science person ever because they dont do even science. fixed 50% of the character.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under at the push of a button and then questions the manner in which I push it.
I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a probe and start torturing bajorans. Either way, I don't give a damn about the wormhole aliens!

>>212497076i might agree with you if this was florida or singapore, but its not is it
>>212497178>They can't use the slave to get knocked up if it's dead from suicide because you showed it compassion for the first time in it's life! Didn't think about that did you Trip? I hope you learned your lesson.LMAOOOO his reaction. I think I would have spit in Archer's face. How can you have any respect left for him after this delusional "reprimand"?
>>212497594It's true. The breeding hole has no brain or mind and only exists to coom. That's why they call it a >>>/co/ genitor, because it is a brainless troon
>>212497594need 4 pips to make those calls. trip got off easy
>>212497150>>212497744>>212497979Truly a shame none of these attractive women are appearing on a Star Trek show and are instead forced to appear in Nu Trek.
>>212497735What rule did he actually break? Prime directive wasnโt in play
>>212499414He didn't really break a rule he just did what he thought Archer would have done and it didn't all magically work out in the end because he's not the captain and main character.
>>212499533I can see it with Archer in that role getting dressed down by the admiral for doing the same thing, so I do get your point. Stupid episode afaic
>We leave behind a being of extraordinary power โฆ and conscience. I am not certain if he should be praised, or condemned, only, that he should be left alone.
the survivors is an underrated episode
i need a cool lime shirt kirk pic
>>212496608Picard is very particular about who serves on the Enterprise.
>>212480924Why was Data green in the movies, but white in the TV show.
>>212500283the movies have a piss filter
>>212500239I was just thinking about posting this guy with the big ass earlier today, synchronicity
>>212500239Who's the helmsman with huge tits? Ensign Pretty?
>Borg are on Earth just chillin this whole time
ENTbros I'm sorry but........fuck this
>>212501327Definitely one of the "oh shit what the fuck are you doing" moments of Enterprise
>>212501327right? but on the other hand fuck first contact too. neither are good but at least ENT is also dumb.
>>212501327The timeline viewing guide I'm watching it on placed this episode all by itself, viewing it after TNG, in between a bunch of Voyager and DS9, and literally exactly after watching First Contact. So for me it was nice to see the crew of the NX01 one last time. They failed to stop the Borg sending a signal but hey at least they were all dead by the time they showed up kek
>>212493507She reminded me of my grandma.
Really, all of the forced cross-promotion for First Contact was fucking annoying and a net negative.
>all of those Borg Queen VOY appearances
>>212484652Damn that Klingon bitch is hot.
>>212501635According to the timeline the Borg Queen didn't show up on Voyager until well after the movie was already done with and forgotten. The Queens first appearance on Voyager was in the episode Dark Frontier which aired on Feb 17, 1999. First Contact came out in late 1996. Also I hate namefags.
>>212501856No shit. I always thought all of that stuff was going on at the same time. Fair enough, anon, fair enough.
In my head, I kind of gave VOY a pass for using the Queen so much because I thought it was kind of thrust upon them.
>>212501928According to information I obtained on the World Wide Web, she didn't even really appear that much on Voyager. I genuinely like Voyager so I'm looking forward to all the Borg stuff since I'm just nearing the end of season 3.
>>212501327>>212501374Picrelated
Also, FC mainly sucked bc it made Cocraine look like an incompetent fool as well, having to rely on Riker and LaForge to launch and operate his warp vessel rendering his own place in history null and void.
>>212501993I enjoyed the Borg stuff on the whole but I think it would've been better without the queen. I think they were better as a faceless menace, made them seem more alien.
>>212502045Agreed. The Borg queen was a stupid abomination.
>>212502045Borg queen is so stupid it perfectly fits into VOY though. If it were isolated to VOY I wouldn't hate it at all, they honestly do it better than First Contact.
>>212502201They could have followed the very same script without the queen by just using the disembodied male Borg voice to recite her lines.
>>212481184Probably my favorite Trek Ship, being honesty.
>>212502201Yes this
>>212502285At least in First Contact, they had the whole angle with Data (not that I liked that at all either) but you could see what they were going for at least. In Voyager she's just there because they wanted to give Mulgrew and Seven an actress to play against, I suppose.
while I've been watching Enterprise I have noticed several interesting choices of props like these pencil cases I used to have for school at the time the show would have been airing. and then in the episode Dead Stop you see them enter the air ducts and they pull out a normal ass unmodified air return filter you can buy at at the grocery store.
>>212502659air filters are air filters, i'd guess it'd be all recycled protein bullshit in space though.
>>212503191it was just funny that it was on a super advanced automated repair station that was fixing Enterprise as if by magic and what's in the air duct is a household object invented on Earth in the 1800s
>>212503382If memory serves, McCoy was waving around salt and pepper shakers all the time.
>>212480924>Star Trek: The Soviet Generationyou had me at picrel
>Soviet Star Trek: The Final Purgealso epic
>put some cowboy fuck who doesn't follow orders as the pilot of your prototype warp engine
>he blows it up
>Starfleet blames the engine design and not him
>decide to cancel the program and invent a totally different engine and try again maybe in 200 years
Sorry I can't suspend my disbelief for this episode it's actually too fucking retarded
>>212484512Hubbard's sci-fi is awesome. "MIssion Earth" is ten books, 5000 pages, 1.5 million words, one coherent story. I liked it so much, I've read it twice.
>>212482028>also v'ger was upgraded by the og borgI always thought Trek missed an opportunity by not having the Borg "descended" from V'ger.
Also, Star Trek The Motion Picture is a great flick.
>>212487243Are you the last person in Western civilization to not have heard of Roko's Basilisk? I'd watch my tongue if I were you.
>>212480381seethers gotta seethe, i guess
>>212504216>Are you the last person in Western civilization to not have heard of Roko's Basilisk?nah man I touch grass and get pussy
>>212497594"Commander, tell me about your sexual organs."
>>212486938 here
Fixed my antenna and it was great. Watching Voyager get fucked rn
>female pon farr
oh fuck off
>>212505356Lol thats not Scott Blacula
>>212505136tpol is a slut just like her grandma
>>212505422i don't know why I'm surprised. i forgot this show exists to completely shit all over Vulcans
>>212505518vulcan logic cultists do show up later
>>212505518It's kind of like the "bad Superman writer" problem.
>this character (race) has a very strict moral code and defined manner>this is BOOORING>the only way to make this character interesting is to change the core of what he is!
>>212505553its just prequel liberties, it all lines up fine in the end
>>212505573no, he's right. it's also shit writing.
>>212490407The vulcan slander was unnecessary but it was a comfy good time otherwise
>>212505553That describes nutrek too. Federation, starfleet, the prime directive, it's all too challenging for these boilerplate writers so they have to devise situations to subvert that from within or separate the characters from it entirely. That's literally all Picard was.
also, Archer gets captured more than a video game princess. it's getting OLD
>>212505858It's a problem with modern writing in general.
>this is hard...>you know what audiences love? edgy dramas that reflect our hopeless gray-and-brown shit-stained world! The worst offense of Nu Trek to me, really, is the complete abandonment of military professionalism. Nobody ever acts like they're serving on board a fucking starship, nobody -- unless they're a villain.
Everybody talks like they're working at some millennial tech start-up with bean bag chairs.
>>212505925>>212506303I like to think there's just some guy at Netflix who hates the Irish
>>212505925Irish are basically blacks. No difference.
>>212507256It's Trek tradition.
>>212479907I think Data said it best.
You just know Gene Roddenberry spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about "the rape planet."
>>212509168gene was a freak but that sounds like a berman inclusion
>>212509215I'm pretty sure it's described as a planet with rape gangs during S1 which would be a Gene thing.
Picard is pure shit, right?
>>212509168>when they actually send an away team to the rape gang planet and no one gets raped

If you where not retarded you would simply used the generated characters and make your own word baloons with whatever text you want! Or do you wast 6h prompting until something coherent comes out?
What was the prompt?
>OK AI make a star trek web comic where the joke is the teleporter.Did you have any toughs at what the joke is supposed to be? Or are you literally a NPC gobbling up whatever shit AI shits out?
You realize you clown that you can get the same results using goanimate? Jesus AI retards are unworthy to lick the shit of the people who use goanimate. Let this sink in....
