It wouldn’t lose money. It could easily make money. First of all, all free streaming sites don’t actually host any video, they just embed a video from a file hosting site. And file hosting sites don’t make much money. File hosting sites use low bitrate, but so do pad services. In fact, you can’t even tell the difference in quality between a filehost 1080p and Netflix 1080p. All Russia would have to do is pay for the infrastructure that filehosting sites use, which clearly can’t be too expensive considering they don’t make a lot of money. Then they just need to scale it up as they get more viewers. It could work easily. The problem is that normies want apps and the apps would be banned on their phones, tablets, and smart tvs. So you would only ever be able to use it on a laptop or PC or through a browser, which at that point why not just use a free streaming site.
