Ballerina
How did John Wick show up at the end? Wouldn't he have been excommunicado during the events of this movie (between 3 and 4)?

A better question is how is Norman Reedus allowed to stay at the Continental in the end when he kills all those people on Continental grounds

Or how the mercs who were after Reedus were put to death for killing him on Continental grounds despite him not having died?

He was excommunicado from the High Table, yes. But he did what he did in servitude of the director, not the table. Think of it as a favor, him saving the Ruska Roma in exchange for them using his ticket in a time of need, the whole thing under wraps from the Table.

To be honest, John Wick is designed to be like that. It's just an action movie, it doesn't pretend to be something smart.
