>the giant survives the missile without a scratch and with his personality intact

The epilogue prevents the movie from being the poignant/impactful work that it could've been

There were already people in 1999 who pointed this out

So what happened to him? Did he get executed or arrested for what he did?

Bait used to be believable.

Yeah the ending kind of ruins the point of the sacrifice. But that's about the only bad mark I can give it. And honestly you could just turn it off before then.

AICN used to shill that move hard. Harry and Drew McWeeny were trying to suck up to Bird.

It's really bad. Don't know why millennials eat it up. There isn't even a strong women of color or any 2SLGBTQQIPAA+ representation whatsoever.

Bird peaked with Ratatouille, and that was a project which he inherited from another director. It wasn't his idea or his characters.

he totally got executed or exiled from the country.
We don't talk about what the US government did to mansly.

The directors cut also completely ruins the third act twist and the whole "souls" talk feels shoehorned in and way too on the nose.

Ratatouille is Brad Bird's masterpiece. Though Iron Giant/Incredibles/Rat is a flawless trilogy anyway.

Too bad the concept and the characters came from Jan Pinkava's head

For fuck sake, he was just a visual consultant. He was never part of the writing room.

He got β€œarrested” by the military and his department seems to be u see the umbrella of the DOD. Not sure of all the laws but 1950s USA tells me he is getting a top secret military tribunal and best case life in prison in the highest security prison at the time. Not crazy to think after being found guilty he was brought behind a utility shed and shot in the head.

I still remember that negative Incredibles review from Letterboxd

Recently M3GAN 2.0 pissed me off with a survived sacrifice, although in that case it's less pussying out and more we need them alive for franchise reasons.

But still remember when sometimes the hero would get maimed at the end like how to train your dragon, now they come pre disabled instead like Elio
Wouldn't that have been neat, if whatever the fuck happened in that movie caused him to lose an eye

Iron Giant and Incredibles are definitely tepid and antiseptic stuff. I wouldn't say the same about Ratatouille tho

Not the biggest fan of Incredibles, but it's better than Iron Giant. At least it has some imagination (the superpowers and the stuff in Syndrome's island base) and it doesn't have a cop-out ending that cheapens the whole thing.

The Incredibles and Ratatouille suck. The Incredibles is a by the numbers "le epin superhero family XD" and the other is a boring ass """"""comedy"""""" about a chef and his fucking rat.

Warner Bros released a bunch of animation movies in theaters during the 90s, but Space Jam was the only successful one. Everything else flopped (including Iron Giant)

WB tried to recreate the box office success of Space Jam in 2002/2003 with the movie Looney Tunes: Back in Action, but it didn't work.
