Only thing that bothered me was when the mexican asked Jake Gyllenhaal what the ideal strategy was in a firefight because he was in the military or some shit and Jake Gyllenhaal said the best strategy was to waste all their ammo firing at nothing. Then they only died because they ran out of ammo. After wasting it, you know. What the fuck?

No, they literally did it bro. They didn't say to do it in so many words, it was something like "lay a base of suppressing fire" or whatever but they just ended up wasting their ammo. Then they got shot because they couldn't fire back anymore.

Okay well already we've shifted a little from "waste our ammo shooting at nothing" to "lay a base of suppressing fire". Your honesty about the difference between these two propositions will determine where the conversation goes from here.
it was so boring compared to Training Day.
And the plot felt really fake and dumb and unbelievable > two partners in LAPD bust too many drug dens and so the mexican cartels try to kill them
stfu gangs in the USA know that murdering police would just cause a lot more police disrupting their activities and cause more of them to go to jail and make less money so they'd only try to kill police if they're about to get caught in order to escape , they wouldn't intentionally set out assassinate police just for taking part in an arrest or drug bust operation.
I don't care if there has been once instance in history of it happening, it's still a dumb plot and it was boring. most of it felt like a slice of life movie.
none of the tight writing and story structure from Training Day was present.
gay movie.

I remember reading a long time ago that a watch store owner in LA shot multiple armed robbers over the years, pissing off some local gang who sent two guys armed with MAC-10s to kill him just as an example. He shot and killed both of them, sold his store and left the city. LA is a different world - even the LAPD have their own gangs.

Yeah but then there's the case of that mistaken call in Las Vegas where the drunk guy pulling up his shorts got lit up by a jump cop, and the cop didn't do any time for it. There are valid criticisms of the cops. Enabling too much of an "occupying soldier" mentality among them IS le bad.

That's the world as it has been for most of history. Especially in places like North America. Even if you were in an institution, you also have your allegiance to your tribe, be that race, religion, secret society, or gang. Hence the globohomo push. Deracinate and rinse everyone of all allegiance except their allegiance to The Party.
