Weird thread, but just to assuage some fears. I've been on finesteride then dutasteride, and oral minoxodil. Some people get amazing results, but the expectation should really be just to stop the hair loss. It worked for me, and I've gotten a little regrowth too. A hair transplant is needed to really fix what is lost, but the pills are needed to keep it. No, I've never experienced any side effects, not even hair growth in other places. Keep in mind that these are just much lower doses of very common medications given to older people for various health conditions. If they can handle it, so can you. my dad's neighbour got a transplant in Turkey this Christmas, it looks horrible. He keeps insisting that it will look better with time but it hasn't in half a year now. I can believe he just had some shoddy operation for sure though, but I've never met anyone else who's had a hair transplant that I could tell. Celebs seem to get transplants that look good... Anyways I'm not too worried yet, from what I've seen of my ancestry I'll have a full head of hair at least until I hit mid 40s.
