Didn't they do something like this in MAWS too? I never got around to watching it but I remember seeing people talk about it. Honestly at this point I think its more so that they don't know how to juggle the two worlds well in modern Superman stories so they just try to come up with an excuse as to why Superman would be more detatched from his alien heritage than his human one. Will watch the movie when I get the chance but doing a twist where the immigrants sent in their people to conquer the mainland is kind of hilarious given how I'm assuming the movie takes a pro-immigration stance.

I enjoy Doug's reviews these days since he's pretty reasonable, acknowledges the good and the bad, and if it's a controversial movie like Snow White or something, he doesn't make it all about the controversy like others would.

In the past he would have all these weird opinions, and often let himself influence by the RT score, but he's really matured as a movie reviewer lately.
