What I found endearing about the show is that most people walk around debating ideals, convictions and deep held beliefs. It is also a weakness of the show since it leans too much on idealism, it's a hagiography of the founding fathers. I used to think like that about Enlightement too, there were good people there, but not among the politicians.

Its based on a specific biography that used a lot of his letters/correspondence, which is a big reason for that tone.
And among the founding fathers there were some people there for genuine reasons that called them to action.
A lot of the political cancer sets in later. Like the political parties were never really supposed to exist. The federalist and the democrats were trying to establish how the country would work, and after things were settled the parties were supposed to go away because that's a little antithetical to the idea of combative representational government.

Many of the families or individuals who had anti-state tendencies were usually sent abroad to a colony, be that Georgia or later Australia.

Ben Franklin is sometime call the founding Grandfather. He was involved in the revolution but would have been far more formidable had he been born 30-40 year later.
Washington generally gets the top dog status since he probably could have been king and established a monarchy but passed
on it.
James Madison is often considered the โ€œwriterโ€ of the constitution.

John Adams arguably has one of the greatest casts ever assembled. Its one thing to cast a single role perfectly, but every actor in this series was fucking perfect. The casting directors dont get the recognition they deserve. Criminally underrated series. No other actor alive will ever perfectly portray the founding father better than these guys.

Largely this. They simply shipped any uppity Irishman off to hell hole Australia and let them seethe down there while dodging abos and snakes. Any that continued being uppity got hung by the marines, if they could catch them. On the other hand if they behaved themselves and planted a British flag, they got lavish farms and wenches.

The French learn about it because the French Revolution would not have happened without the American one. Bongs are in denial and spend 90% of their history classes learning about how Elizabeth I destroyed the Spanish Armada and how Europe must suck their dicks for dealing with Napoleon. None of this matters because they will all be speaking Urdu in 50 years because their elites are ethnically cleansing them.

I grew up Quaker. It's pretty fucking schizo. You sit in a room in total silence until someone has an epiphany. Of course the loudest and most annoying person controls the discourse. My grandfather had a Quaker funeral and his cousin rambled for 20 minutes awkwardly because you're not allowed to interrupt anyone. Quakerism was always pretty gay but it's completely zogged now. Full of secular kikes, atheists, and maoists.

As I said before, because Quakers are so passive they just get walked all over. In the 90s secular kikes and leftists got really interested in Quakerism. Of course these "people" are totally alien to Anglo American norms around civility, silence, and patience and they would just inject their poison into everything. Jews love to talk and their pilpul started to dominate. It got so obnoxious that my aunt quit the meeting house and went to a Unitarian church instead. I hate k*kes so much it's unreal. This so how they dominate places. They show up to a place and act so annoying until all the original people leave. Now they own the thing.

Americans were antisemitic back then.
It took two world wars and decades of Anglo-Jewish influence to warp them.

The British forces steadied their heavy artillery with a plentiful commodity in New Orleans: sacks of cane sugar. After each gun had been fired a few times, they got so hot that the sugar in the sacks melted and gummed up the guns. That disabled most of the cannons in their fortifications.

The jacobites were absolute monarchists who believed in the divine right of kings, former jacobites in america were overwhelmingly loyal to the british regime
The american rebels despised highland scots and jacobites
>The situation in the colonies in early 1776 also provided a background against which Highlanders could easily be thought of as a threat to the cause of independence. Lowland Scotch and Scotch Irish were in the forefront of the move for independence, but Highlanders probably were more loyal to the Royal cause, and more ready to take up arms against rebellious colonists, than were any other ethnic group. A gentleman of Philadelphia wrote on May 18, 1776, to a friend in England: "Believe me, Sir, these [demands for independence] are the sentiments of all degrees of men in British America, a few tattered Scotch Highlanders excepted, who have lately emigrated, and whose ignorance, feudal notions and attachment to names> keeps them servile and wholly at the beck of their Chiefs. .. . In this Province, English, Scotch, and Irish, are equally engaged in the great cause of liberty. Indeed many of the Scotch have particularly signalized themselves in the cause of freedom."
>The British authorities made the most of this local situation. In early 1776 Highlanders were active with the forces of Sir John Johnson in the Mohawk Valley, and some 300 were forced to throw down their arms by General Philip Schuyler.10 In North Carolina Highlanders made up a large part of a Tory force raised by Governor Martin that was defeated by colonial militia at Moore's Creek on February 27, 1776. News of the Highlanders' defeat reached General Washington at Cambridge, and in a letter of April 1, 1776, to Joseph Reed he spoke of "those universal instruments of tyranny, the Scotch."11

Nice try but the influential founders were all Anglo and originally had most or all the rights of Englishmen in Europe under the crown
Everyone else came after starting with French mostly who already had a large colonial presence in the Americas. WW1 wasn't until the 20th century which is way after the founding and also created the first income taxes that were suppose to be temporary to pay for the war

>When the Declaration of Independence was drafted and debated in the closing days of June and early July, Americans were familiar with the German treaties, and the Hessians were already on the high seas headed for New York, where the British after their evacuation of Boston were preparing an attack. However, no Hessian had set foot on American soil, and no shots had been exchanged between them and the colonials. But with Scotch Highlanders Americans had already come face to face as enemies, and blood had been shed. Early in 1776 some 3,000 Highland troops had set sail from Greenock, most of them headed for Boston. When they arrived, General Howe had already evacuated that hotbed of rebellion. So, early in June four of the transports, with nearly 500 Highlanders, were taken prisoner by the Americans, but only after Major Menzies and seven Highland soldiers had been killed and several Americans wounded. Word of conflict with the Highlanders, and their capture, spread throughout the colonies. The Highlanders were buried to the dirge of bagpipes, and the captured officers were marched up the streets of Boston. The prisoners were widely dispersed. A captured Highland officer wrote to a friend in England: "As it was thought improper for us to remain at a seaport, we were ordered sixty miles up the country .. . on our journey no slaves were ever served as we were; through every village, town, and hamlet that we passed, the women and children, and indeed some men among them, came out and loaded us with the most rascally epithets, calling us "rascally cut-throat dogs, murtherers, blood hounds &. &." But what vexed me most was their continual slandering of our country (Scotland), on which they threw the most infamous invectives; to this abuse they added showers of dirt and filth, with now and then a stone.5"

Andrew Jackson drove his stallion-pulled carriage up to the White House lawn. "Damn I love being white" he said, punching a slave child as he climbed out. "I think we respect Native American lands" said Marshall; "Shut up Tory" came the reply from behind a veil of pipe smoke. "Please sir" said the nebbish chief justice, "Georgia has the ancestral lands of the Native people, where they have lived in an entirely peaceful utopia for thousands of years. They don't even know what war is!"

"Sounds like WOKE NONSENSE to me" guffawed Jackson, his very presence introducing DDT into the ecosystem as he uncorked a bottle of claret. "This is MAGA country now, boy" he proclaimed before shooting interned Cherokees with an unregistered flintlock.
