I think it's because Milennials in particular subconciously inherited those attitudes from Boomers given they were raised by them. Meanwhile, Zoomies were raised by Gen-X (for better or worse) and are a more laid back and less insecure generation more aware of their flaws (at least among the ones that aren't completely brainrotted by the internet and drugs).

Lelu is closer to the trope than most of the chicks on the list. She's full of whimsy and makes the cynical protagonist more romantic. Clementine and Ramona are explicitly a MPDG deconstructions who are more trouble than they're worth. Allison is a bit quirky, but she's a pretty basic girl hiding behind the edgelord mask because she's insecure, nothing manic or pixie-ish about her. No idea who the Yellowjackets chick is, never seen it.
