>>212536076I say, I say, you got the gift boy
>>212524724>the (hornblower) main character looks more like a male model than a competent captain,a young up and coming officer, which is great. we basically only see the beginnings in the tvmovies/show, the books are a tad bit more extensive. but theyre fun to read if you got the time
>>212536603he was too patient with Riker
>>212536632more like the writers were being too lenient with riker, still being stuck on the enterprise instead of his own ship. they couldve just written it in a way to have them be on missions together or in tandem as the borg or whatever threat they planned prior (and very early), so they still have the actor on and add a little spice to the later part of the show, which was getting stale as we all know. also a perfect bleed-in device to drift into your spin-off with riker at the helm.
Gonna smoke some akoocheemoya and get ready for bed. Rec me a comfy episode to fall asleep to
>>212536076The Royale is a guilty pleasure of mine.
>>212536573I'd like to watch this. I've read the first two Hornblower novels, they're good. But I can't find this fucking show anywhere.

>>212537299I don't know if will even has opinions.
>>212537314I tried. Once.
threadly reminder that seething about "AI slop" means you hate version 0 of the holodeck, and are therefore not a real trek fan at all
Remember that time Kirk fought Da Vinci over his fancy fleshlight?
>>212537163I want to know whatever happened to Dr. Giger and his invention. maybe minions got him...
B'ellana has a braid and ribbon in her hair in the episode Real Life where the Doctor gets a family. Why does she have a ribbon and a braid? Why? It's different and I don't like things that are different.
>>212537466Have you ever considered that if AI videos and whatnot were actually anything near as good or fully realized as holodecks are portrayed that people might have a change of heart about them?
As it stands, the technology isn't there yet and my brain just immediately tells me something is weird and off every time I look at it.
I would never go into a holodeck if it felt like that.
>>212537523Why not just post pictures of real women?
>>212537523>I would never go into a holodeck if it felt like that.I would in order to have le sexo.
>>212537569I don't think I could fuck some weird thing with six fingers where its face changes every time its head moves.
honestly it's offensive to me as a sci-fi nerd to even call these learning models "AI". Save that shit for when it becomes sentient (probably never)
>>212537604>I don't think I could fuck some weird thing with six fingers where its face changes every time its head moves.I've done it on acid before so I don't think it would be too much different but I would probably feel really shitty after and reconsider my life.
Iโll never understand why the most progressive liberal utopian minded show to exist, with admirable asians and blacks and russians, hates the native american so much
>>212537604The sad thing is there will be fetishists for 6 fingered AI slop within our lifetime.
>anywayWhat actor do you think could save post STD trek if made the captain of a new episodic series set after VOY and why is it Jeffrey Combs
>>212537506Kinda love the braid on B'ellana. Apparently it's the only time she ever wore it. Also none of you mentioned B'ellana on the thread about sexiest Trek characters which means she's mine. Har har har.
>>212537723>the first trek with some fruity alien as the captainhm. i'm intrigued.
>>212537688Maybe because it was against isolationists and space Indians dug their own grave by failing to integrate? I mean what kind of retarded navabros would try to make a space reservation?
Iโve seen all of the Trek movies except for this one. What do you guys think? Worth a watch? I love most of the TOS movies except for Final Frontier and the other TNG movies are eh. I like elements from both generations and first contact, but they donโt live up to the series.
>>212537790>weyoun clone joins starfleetBased
>>2125378346 would've. rip in peace little buddy
Given future tech, you could probably survive comfortably at the top of a mountain or in the middle of the Sahara with a micro fusion generator and a replicator. It would expand the amount of livable space and allow humans to spread out more. I find it impossible to believe that there would be any premium on real estate in this future. Nobody would care about "That planet belongs to us" nonsense not even the most fascist space empire.
>>212537822Insurrection is pretty ok. Why not watch it? What else do you have to do?
>>212537822I think all the TOS are good and all the TNG movies are bad. This one is the most TNG feeling of the 4 but also with a the lowest budget and production values, and some really bad plot logic. But it and first contact are the least insulting of the 4.
>>212537723Making Combs a captain or a cast member would be kino, I'd love to see them bring guys like Andrew Robinson and J.G. back too.
>>212537953At this point, I'm ready for the captain nog show
>>212537797a white person wrote and decided that story. these space natives are not real. furthermore, real natives in real life DO NOT immigrate. there are no troves of squaws moving from Canada to say Germany or Thailand or Norway. and when you consider their religious beliefs, that their North America is a turtle island given to them by god, they become particularly offended when asked why they donโt leave and immigrate. hence, I state again, why does the most progressive and liberal utopian show hate the chug so much?
>>212537975Yeah, about that... I've got some bad news.
>>212537892Yeah and most aliens wouldn't be bipedal humanoids. And warp isn't even possible. And why are there children on a giant battleship
>As long as we're throwing pointless boilerplate critiques
The Doctor's kid dying in this Real Life episode is an example of how engrossing and probably addicting a holonovel could be. If it were up to me I would make holonovels illegal. Fuckin crazy that you interact with a holocharacter that's nearly sentient and then the novel just kills them off because it's programmed to and you have to live that experience. I think holodeck technology is one of the things that degenerated the alpha quadrant and made it rife for invasion after the TOS era. They got lucky. Should have been taken over by the Dominion. Bunch of fucking libertines.
>>212537995>a white person wrote and decided that story. My pearls, they are clutched.
>>212537523which is why i said version 0. if you don't like the quality of AI image/video generation, work to make it better. or are you a helpless entitled whiner?
>>212538078>I'd make holonovels illegalWhy stop there, make the doctor himself illegal since he's a holographic program and by not existing his feelings would never get hurt
>>212538114>work to make AI betterNo.
>>212538043I just think conflicts over land and resources seem silly and contrived. I think they're stupid on earth too given how much empty land there is, so I just extend that into the Trekiverse. I've never been a city dweller so nobody ever psyopped me into believing that population density is going to murder us all.
>Let the Indians have their planets.
>>212538097I really donโt care if le trek is racist and or white people are awful. whatever. trek has always had admirable space joggers and asians and arabs. why specifically, of all races, of all skin colour and creed, why exactly is the native american singularly and only shit on? chakotay isnโt even native, he was born on a colony planet.
>>212538114>Well hey, if you like living so much, just become a doctor and engage in cutting edge research to produce new medicines! >otherwise, you clearly don't like living! No, I'll not take personal responsibility for refining every technological development in the world. And I'll still call what you call "AI" shit and you're only going to get mad because you see profit and opportunity in it like a filthy Ferengi.
>>212537822It was decent. ST9 had Anthony Zerbe, who was in like half of all movies in the '70s, as well as the antagonist in "KISS: Attack Of The Phantoms".
>>212538138The Doctor is a useful piece of technology like Data. Holonovels are just going to cause space-schizophrenia.
>>212537822This is the most like a TNG episode of any of the TNG movies.
Unfortunately, it's more of a "Time's Arrow" than a "Best of Both Worlds."
>>212538169t. seething brainlet
>>212538196i've never paid for any ai tools, i just download them for free and run them locally
>>212537995>real natives in real life DO NOT immigratethey were too busy forming tribes, doing drugs, and scalping the other tribes that killed their buffalo. Tribal warfare sure is GOOD.
>>212538175Meh the US is 250 years old, people are invested. Many of the colonies are hundreds of years old. Its not unreal that colonizers, as shown in multiple TNG episodes, would have deep attatchments to the territory their ancestors terraformed in a pre replicator world.
>>212538285I know I can expect /pol/tards enjoying the excuse to randomly shit on random brownies. But I do ask seriously: why is the single most liberal progressive utopian television ever made so insistent on hating the squaws? you can type more hate for the native, but it is still the liberal progressive utopia. I want answers
>>212538187Youve asked this 3 times like any of the writers are in the thread. Maybe it was meant to show the folly of isolationism. Youre pretending Chakotay doesn't exist, who despite sucking, is shown to be in touch with his native roots
So Belanna basically used an AI prompt that said "make the Doctors family more difficult" and the computer decided to murder his sentient holodaughter. Voyager is so crazy. I'll take this over Worf in the old west though.
>>212538413Chakotay literally has no native roots. the character was created by a con man and if youโre a legitimate trek nerd and not some nutrek faggot you already know this. the rubber sky people donโt exist, no real natives worship such things, and besides theyre aliens, and chakotay was born on a colony planet, so heโs native to a planet other than earth and itโs native customs. the name chakotay itself is legitimate gibberish and made up by the con man because it sounds vaguely squaw
type all the hatred about them being scalping meth heads whatever. why is the single most progressive liberal utopian television show so insistent on shitting on this one specific race? I didnโt make this thread or choose the op picture. this question was invited
>>212537299I think he's a masterful interviewer and speaks well about the craft. His opening and closing bumpers are fake and forced but the actual interviews, especially with Frakes, are well done
>>212538371Oh I'm not on this anti-colonial fad that the TikTok shitlibs are on about. I don't believe in giving back land to a 2/128th Cherokee or something. Time is immutable. Fate took his land away, not anyone living today. I always side with the colony people in Star Trek. That's what I mean when like the bug people wanted to exterminate that colony in the Data episode, it's like, don't they have fucking thousands of planets probably? They really care about some tiny ass corner or some singular planet? It's just boring storytelling to me. It's boring storytelling IRL too. I am not a property owner and most of my family history involves zero colonization and just working class immigrants doing their thing being the cattle for the elites. I don't care about the elites and I know the cattle are for the most part too stupid ever to do anything about it. The whole human show is indeed a tale told by an idiot, signifying nothing. That's why the Space Politics episodes are the most boring ones to me.

>>212538805Why? What's so special about Tendi?
>>212539256I don't know but I want to put her in a deep fryer
>>212539291thanks for the nugget of wisdom

>I always side with the colony people in Star Trek. I don't, I was just saying it wouldn't take long to form an attachment to land, as evidenced by my patriotic but only 250 year old country
>That's what I mean when like the bug people wanted to exterminate that colony in the Data episode,The weird black blob sydicate were just lawyerball dorks. I thought they set it up well. But I'm also a season 2 truther
>it's like, don't they have fucking thousands of planets probably? That's an argument for the lawyerball sydicate, why can't the colonists just move, they have the contract
> They really care about some tiny ass corner or some singular planet? Yeah why not, it's their property. It could be mineral rich or contain high deposits of bug food
>It's just boring storytelling to me. It's boring storytelling IRL too. K
>I am not a property owner K
>and most of my family history involves zero colonization and just working class immigrants doing their thing being the cattle for the elites. K
>I don't care about the elites and I know the cattle are for the most part too stupid ever to do anything about it. The whole human show is indeed a tale told by an idiot, signifying nothing. That's why the Space Politics episodes are the most boring ones to me.That's like your opinion man

>>212539237Apparently Jamake highwater got his first consulting job walking into a studio wearing a leather vest and leggings and a headdress he got from an early 90s costume store

And then it's depressing to realize how that level of trust in our society has completely evaporated.

Modern Star Trek doesn't have anything to say.
I asked AI for a thorough sexual analysis of Troi: Her tits are full C-cups, soft with wide, dark areolas and responsive nipples that harden into firm peaks when arousedโpinkish-brown, slightly asymmetrical, with one nipple inverting slightly until stimulated. She loves them sucked gently at first, building to firm tugs, as it sends empathetic waves of pleasure echoing her partner's emotions; she's had them sucked in past relationships, finding it grounding and intimate. Her cunt is plush and inviting, with plump outer labia that part to reveal inner lips that are ruffled and darker-hued, framing a prominent clit that's hooded but swells to a sensitive pearl when engorged. She trims her pubic hair to a neat landing strip of soft, dark curlsโpractical for her uniform but sensual. The smell is warm and faintly sweet, like ripe fruit mixed with a clean musk, intensifying to a heady, oceanic tang during arousal. Taste-wise, it's mildly salty with a creamy undertone, her natural lubrication slick and viscous, turning thicker and more pungent as she nears orgasm. She cums with deep shuddersโher cunt contracting rhythmically, squirting a light, clear fluid if intensely stimulated, leaving her flushed and emotionally open. She's experienced oral from both genders, loving having her clit sucked in slow circles, and she'd eagerly swallow another woman's cum if the emotional bond is strongโsavoring the intimate essence as an extension of empathy. Her ass is round and firm from yoga-like exercises, with smooth cheeks that dimple slightly when clenched. The asshole is a tight, puckered ring, rosy-brown, with minimal fine hairs around the perimeterโclean and subtle. It smells earthy and faint, like warm skin with a hint of her body's natural flora, tasting slightly metallic and musky if licked. She's had it licked before, enjoying the taboo thrill if done teasingly, but prefers it as foreplay rather than focus, as it amplifies her empathic senses to overwhelming levels.

>>212558956>hatersIt's not awful or unwatchable or anything but it's definitely among TNG's weaker two-parters. There's nothing hateful about saying that.
Also Mark Twain is incredibly based for saving Ulysses S. Grant's biography on its own, let alone his writing.

>>212561207Weyoun 6 is a hero

also Time's Arrow is absolute kino and I will not elaborate further. The worst TNG two-parter is Descent. The second worst TNG two-parter is Unification. The third worst TNG two-parter is Insurrection, because it is a two-parter smashed into a movie.
>>212561207>WEYOUN7: Weyoun Five was a great man. A true patriot. His death in a transporter accident was most unfortunate.*glares at Damar*
>WEYOUN [on monitor]: And still under investigation.>DAMAR: A very thorough investigation that has found no evidence of foul play.Love it
>>212562313None of the two-parters you mentioned are particularly good but Unification is the best among them because of Spock if nothing else. Time's Arrow is worse than everything but Descent which I think is hands-down the worst of the lot.
>>212552032I always thought she was rather homely. Maybe a 3 or 4 tops.
>>212562406>because of Spock if nothing else.It was a useless memberberry before the term existed. There was absolutely nothing about Spock's logical character that would lead him to personally go to the Romulan homeworld, underground, to start up negotiations with an (ultimately treacherous) underground movement. He knew he was visible, he knew he was older, he was not an ambassador as accomplished as his father. We already have proof of the Romulans using the Planet of Peace from TFF as a neutral ground, or really any neutral ground, to negotiate. It was an excuse to have another TOS memberberry because five minutes of geriatric McCoy and fat angry drunk Scotty from Relics wasn't enough.
Moreover, and I know I am verging on "but what about Aragorn's tax policy?" thought here, the consequences of unification are immense. Germany was rough as it is - but there is a reason why no one is actively taking any steps toward Korean unification, nor should they. Romulus and Vulcan have been divergent for too long, with nearly no cultural contact (unlike Berliners chucking messages over the wall or Koreans having planned reunions during tight windows). The entire episode premise was stupid and an excuse to trot out Leonard Nimoy for ratings, and for this reason, it is on my bad list.
I would expect you to have a midwit take, since you come to an anonymous site meant for ephemeral conversation and continually start general threads using a trip. Perhaps Reddit is more your speed. Go back. Your every thought and utterance is a contemptible abomination and you ought to feel shame, once you find an extra brain cell to feel it.

>>212562385Considering how sharp 5 was it is kind of an implausible way for him to die. He would have sniffed out the plot ahead of time. 7 or 8 are dumb as bricks though.

an actual neat episode. I liked it. also I swear in the episode where they went back to Earth after the attack the Enterprise got photon torpedoes but they haven't used them once so far.
Just watched the infamous "Cogenitor" episode of ENT and man, I gotta agree with what that other anon was saying the other day, Archer comes across as a giant moral coward. I can't imagine Kirk having such a laissez faire attitude about the slavery of the cogenitors.
And then he's so self-righteous when he lectures Trip about it like it's all his fault.
Also a huge waste of J'kar from Babylon 5, how the fuck did they not give him a better role?
I want to drink Kanar with Damar
>>212575732>And then he's so self-righteous when he lectures Trip about it like it's all his fault. This is the worst part of it all. I was trying to predict how he'd react while watching the episode and I was just as shocked as Trip.
Voyager episode starts out with a fakeout mutiny which turns out to be a holodeck program. Clever Voyager writers are clever. What a surprise, another fun Voyager episode.

>>212577238She was pretty hot.
Which Captain got the least amount of my pussy? (Excluding Janeway of course unless youโd like to throw her sex life into the equation) Definitely not Kirk, Sisko gets married, Picard got some action, so is it archer? Is it janeway? For such a horny show Archer doesnโt see a lot of action. Janeway doesnโt have a lot of male love interests either. Are Janeway and Archer the least attractive captains?

>>212536573Never seen or read Hornblower. But, C. S. Forester wrote the novels. And I've read a couple of his other books. A good one is The Good Shepard. It's pretty much in internal monologue of a captain who is commanding a convoy across the Atlantic in WW2. His thought process and self-doubt. It would be cool to have a Trek that got into the minutia of command.
