I seriously tried to like this, I’ve been a fan of MDE since 2015. 10 years later this releases and I’m excited. Then this crap? Where are the jokes? Seriously, not being hyperbolic, there AREN’T ANY PUNCHLINES. I’m the first 4 episodes I can’t even describe to you a joke from this show. It’s just shitty improv that goes nowhere until the sketch just sort of fizzles out with someone yelling or someone making a silly face. Every shot in this show looks like behind the scenes footage, nothing feels coherent. Extreme disappointment is what it should be called, because they’ve all had a decade to think of new funny stuff and this slop gets cranked out by wiggers. And it’s not a contrarian take either (unfortunately.) I seriously wanted to like it, and I asked myself “am I being too harsh on this show?” But no. No I am not, after re-watching WP1 I can say that with conviction this show is genuinely just bad.

The next gameshow sketch should be “Name one punchline from Extreme Peace”

It's pretty boring. There are small funny bits, but a compilation of them would probably only be a minute or two long. So far the only thing that's been even a little funny is Erick saying "don't start" and the Charls hot tub stream sketch.

Majority of it was also filmed years ago, which is why it has so many of the season 1 fishtank cast in it looking exactly as they did back then. It's a pretty incredible waste of time for such a dull result.

I'm also glad I didn't buy the season pass this year. I never had before either but the $10 was tempting, and then it got cancelled and they dropped this boring turd of a show to go with it.

Episode 4 was the first episode that i thought was actually "good".
The AI sketch seemed a bit iffy. The bar sketch was funny, but could've been cut shorter.
The first part of Smarter than a Gay Guy was great. The other two parts... not so much.

Insurance Fraud Man was fantastic. Homeless on caffine with hammers was funny.


Guatemalo-bot seemed just bad. Just wasn't funny. They also threw the thing out of a truck and then blamed the guy who made it when it broke. Maybe that part was filmed after though, idk. Just seemed like they blamed the sketch not being funny on technical difficulties instead of it being way too long.

My favorite part of the show are the 15 or so seconds of ending production designs and the jingles. It feels very nice and professional. The first two logos and the audio reminds me of old anime vhs tapes from japan.

Original MDE wasn't that funny either, however it was cutting edge when it comes to right-wing sociopolitical commentary. They raised lots of good points that at the same time became mainstream takes in alt-right circles.
Also their messaging was way more audio-visual and unsettling. You can watch some of their old WP sketches on mute and still understand the point. The new shit is just them rambling and laughing at their own shitty. I don't think anyone on MDE even understands what made the original show great.

There's a ton of shit that went wrong here. Sam also couldn't push back on Nick's bad ideas because they're friends, you could tell on PGL.

Anything on HWD or ToA was much better written, Extreme Peace feels like the script was just a loose collection of ideas like the idubbbz gaslighting document.

When Sam worked with the old gang and they had to meet the restrictions set by Adult Swim that helped them, similar to what he said about past car design being better.
And in the post WP era when Sam was alone he also delivered much better work because he was the lone boss and made all final decisions, he didn't have to manage egos, just his own vision.
Schultz doesn't fully get it, he was never as artsy and with it like Ruse, he delivers kind of a mimicry of the old MDE. And Sam is much more concerned with money now, ironically now that he has enough that it shouldn't bother him so much.
