I think the problem is the humor just doesn't fit Superman. Superman's sense of humor is a lot more dry and gentle, he's written to be a proper Superman otherwise but that part felt off. He's a little too loud and neurotic and coolguy, which is more Starlord. I guess a lot of it comes down to the direction and acting too, maybe once Corenswhet is more comfortable in the role and this Superman develops to be more confident and mature it will seem more right. I feel like Gunn was the right guy when it comes to jumpstarting this new universe and setting the right tone and all that but I think another director could make a much better Superman

Yeah Starlord Superman is really just annoying and unimpressive. I think because of all the Superman versions we've gotten, they should have went with the extremes, either extreme wholesomeness with no edge to the point it's comedic or extreme edginess to the point it's entertaining. Starlord Superman just feels like an MCU reject.
