I hope they don't do 10 20 minute episodes and do 5 40 minute episodes instead.
Some of the episodes just felt empty but overall it was autist kino.

Ending was really good.

The Apple trademark was too strong. Even with 20 minutes episodes, literally nothing happens in them. I guess it may work as a book if the narrator if the funny sarcastic robot, but here it fell flat. he keeps telling us how mean it is and how much it hates human, but he never does anything questionable, his actions are just generic good guy things. So in the end, it's just your regular scifi action show.

An agreeable 4/10, not good not terrible. The finale episode however, I just couldn't, it's just too cheesy, I had to skip through most of it. sorry, muderbros.

Skarsgård is just a pretty face, he doesn't have enough of charisma and screen presence to carry a show, especially a show that it trying to be a somewhat comedic one.

Dastmalchian got typecast again and plays the same character he often does: a creepy weirdo.
The rest of the cast are meh, I couldn't care about any of them and their characters.

The story is whatever, and the writing is too quirky.
Production quality and the sets are alright, but on a cheap side.
Well at least it was short.

Won't be watching season 2.

literally what was the point of the mixed race, three gendered trouple? nobody in that lesbian/non-binary couple showed nothing but annoyance toward the jeet, understandingly, so what was this all about anyway?
Anonymous No.212582798

the woman wanted to switch things up and the non-binary wanted to make the woman happy. its your basic reluctant swinger story arc.

yeah, nice melancholy note, with the disconnect between well-adjusted people and the bot.

This show was interesting. It's by far the most horrifying dystopian Sci-Fi media I have ever watched.
>the only White people left (which you see) are low IQ, impulsive sociopathic rednecks
>and a castrated (not just metaphorical), indoctrinated, enslaved White man working in security (murderbot)
>his entire life's purpose is to work for brown-skinend hippies living in some weird poly relationship, regulated by smart contracts
>even when that last Aryan decides to free himself (of his governor-module) he is still so indoctrinated that he is ready to kill himself to protect the brown hippies
>every second that he isn't doing his job, he is busy binging tv shows
I have never been so deeply horrified. This is so dystopian, because it's so realistic. It's a very miserable, depressing view of the future.

you've a pretty sad outlook on your fellow humans

i think i remember your post about it in another thread, because it's kinda similar.
but you said his inner monologue was like this
>im the last white man and im serving brownoids but atleast i can make funny quips in my head
and it stuck with me, thats what the show basically is. he's the most intelligent and capable yeah, and he could be a stand-in for western civilization. but he's relegated to this position and role, and all he can seem to do about it is grin and bare it. it's very apt, as you say.

wait so is he gay in the end? I can see the guravin love story coming next season a mile away

No.

gurathin recognizes the nerodivergence in murderbot because he's not that far off from being an autist himself. i think gurathin represents what murderbot could hope to achieve, belonging without denying the otherness.

I think it was heavily implied he was gay tho
Like the way they were conversing, and the whole
>I need to check the perimeter
thing... then Guravin was crying? Like he got rejected?
I dunno... given all the hippy throuple bullshit they've been pushing all season I'm inclined to think they are gonna make the super smart autistic robot gay now
Anonymous No.212586265 >>212586397

gurathin has a thing for dr mensah, so i don't think that's it. he was crying because of empathy. the "i need to check the perimeter" was basically murderbot saying "i cant stay because i dont belong and i cant really talk about my feelings yet" and gurathin getting it.

isn't that the point though? That all his comedy is robotic and inhuman?

Are you fucking retarded? He was crying because he had come to like him despite their differences. He realized he really was trying to protect them the whole time despite being able to kill them anytime.

Watch the scene again, they did Guravin's hair differently (parted it or something I think) and they lit him up like he was trying to seduce SecUnit. He was definitely hitting on him at least
He's crying because now he's 2/2 with rejections. First Mensah now SecUnit.
I hope they do a punished Guravin plot instead of a gay romance one

You're delusional. His hair was different because he just got out of bed at best.

The whole point was that they are supposed to be this irrational group of touchy feely granola hippies to juxtapose against murderbots pragmatic autism. The hippies interpret murderbots actions as a sign of him caring but his internal monologue reveals he is just taking the course of action that lets him go back to watching tv as fast as possible.

Come on... you come up with cope like this and then tell me I'm delusional?
There was something going in this scene, it definitely felt off. Maybe not explicitly gay gay. But there was something incredibly effeminate all of a sudden about Guravin's character, his approach, and yes his fucking hair even. I don't buy the whole ONE OF US shit, he already mindmerged with SecUnit when he went blind and shit.... I just realise now that in hindsight they're entire storyline between the two of them seems like the set up to a rom com almost

Well, have you laughed out loud at least once after hearing a comedic line from Muderbot?
Anonymous No.212588081

nta but yes, a few times. biggest laugh was the "its canon" line from a few episodes ago.
