So funnily enough a bunch of old man of steel review videos are popping up on my YouTube page (I guess a lot of people are going back to them) and comparing them with the new review videos goes to show that raw presentation is way more important than character intricacies. Outside of the movie’s own issues Gunn should not have marketed the DCU at all and poured everything into this “sole good movie” as a juxtaposed sibling to The Batman. Then they can go from there. That’s what a competent WB exec would do anyway. Unfortunately Gunn was hired precisely to build a universe and bring the MCU to DC. As professor Heimerdinger said the stars (or something) that burn the brightest also burn the fastest. The DCU is going to reach the MCU’s faults a lot sooner.
