That is to say, it instinctually killed all the males on the ship and, at the end, when it was just chillin' in the wall of her escape craft, and not leaping out to kill her, was not the product of some kind of theretofore undescribed fatigue, but rather it was then beginning its courtship. Just something that audiences can point at, laugh and say that would be so strange if things were that way! and move on.
