The Dark Knight Rises is one of the dumbest big-budget blockbusters ever made. Bane’s plan makes no sense—he somehow takes over Wayne Enterprises through a stock exchange heist and then holds Gotham hostage for months without doing anything. Sending every cop into the sewers is beyond stupid, and having them charge out like is just embarrassing.
But the problem isn’t just with this movie. The entire Nolan trilogy is full of contrived plots, , dull characters, and laughably bad action. Bruce Wayne is lifeless, and most of the dialogue is badly written. The second movie only gets a pass because Heath Ledger heroed—take that away, and it’s just another overhyped, self-serious superhero film.
