Hyde wasn't in it. One of the characters was Eric's cousin and she made an appearance in an episode of That 70s Show to help connect the spinoff to the new show but otherwise was a clean slate.
There are many theories as to why it failed but I think it was because it was too much of a caricature of the 80s so people who should have identified with the character weren't able to do so.

Here in Canada, there are colleges that are turning into or have turned into diploma mills where majority are Indians who come and get their shit and dip. Companies are blacklisting these colleges and actual people are starting to suffer trying to look for jobs because their education have been worthless or seen as embarrassing to have. Indians are literally destroying your job prospects, without actually getting the job over you.
