It's a completely different 'style'.
It had promise initially with the Hollywood hills subplot and the new age hippie rehabs/wellness centers run by old hippies.
In my opinion they should have focused heavily on the California hippie neighbourhoods, not the soulless downtown urban area subplot.

Imo just skip straight to season 4. People love to hate it but after the first season it's the most watchable one.
It has a comfy location and makes full use of it.
