Heres a question that has been bugging me. Why waltuh didnt start making his own methelamyne in the last seasons? If Jesse's trip to Mexico with Gus and Mike told us something, that something is that beaners are capable of making that substance inside a dirty lab. If waltuh decided to make methlamyne, he would have saved himself from multiple headaches
Anonymous No.212631975 >>212632715
>>212631749
Do make methlamyne they would have to make a dedicated methlamyne making operation which would require different chemicals which would require dedicated operations to making these chemicals etc in the end making meth is basically just an afterthought after going through weeks of making other chemicals. They wanted to make meth though. Also their system was based on quickly cooking in houses covered by the exterminator business, they wouldn't have enough time to do all that.

they're two dudes working in a tent, the mexican operation had a warehouse sized lab
i guess they could have done it but it would've severely reduced productivity and profits

this right here. cancer, especially stage 3, gives you the freedom to not give a fuck. despite this, or maybe because of this, Walt dedicates his life to setting up his family the best way he knows how. yeah, he absolutely went way beyond that for himself, but initially he was only in it to help his family. He turns Gus down several times evenwhile Gus is saving Walt from the other bad boys. In the end, his own excess pride and ambition are his undoing.

Greek mythology right there.

Yeah, believe me, it's real.
I went from being a good guy to antisocial psychopath in pretty much one year. I was already diagnosed with a personality disorder in childhood though, and I guess the trauma I went through just made the disorder manifest itself again. Walt's arc is possible, guys.

Wasnt Waltuh into "the empire" business, as he claimed to Jesse? Eventually, he had to produce methlamyne if he wanted full control of his meth production. That deal with that bitch was good for as long as it worked, but that train robbery was a very stupid and risky move.
I'd rather have my own methlamyne supply to make meth, rather than robbing trains.
My problem is that this thought never crossed Walter's mind, and it was never debunked with a counterargument in the show. This is unlikely for this show since it has a script that doesnt leave loose ends. My theory is that since waltuh was a super chemist, he would be able to make methlamyne even in a cooking pot easy, but the chemical process might have been very time consuming, and time was always against waltuh

The issue is essentially that you need a large industrial faculty to make methylamine, including a bunch of massive pressure reactors because there a bunch of gas phase chemistry in there. Think something like an oil refinery

Everyone has it in them, so Walt is nothing special. If you think back to his life before cancer, he was already a dead man spiritually; kudos to him for making something out of himself before physically dying. Modern life is just dead people walking with a lot of rage inside of them. Just fuck the system.

Solid and liquid phase chemistry vs gas phase chemistry. One you can do in a bathtub, the other you need a bunch of large pressure vessels. Apples and potatoes

That's the biggest chemistry flaw in the show, even worse than the mercury bomb.
Methylamine is piss easy to make, about as hard as water carbonation to make soda, literally just methane gas added to ammonia liquid. Boom methylated amine. It would take awhile to purify the ammonia from windex but it really isn't what they build it up to be.

Walt is a tryhard who makes grandiose statements but doesn't really know all that much. It's a character trait. Remember he got ultra butthurt when he found out he had to replace the whole logistics and distrubtion network that Gus had built up with his own money because he just assumed these things simply existed.
