Now that's what I'm talking about. An everyday blue collar man who also happens to be a famous hollywood actor. We aint seen legit tough as nails men like him since the 50s, and a humble one to boot. Fancy foamy coffee from a starbucks? No sir, instant coffee and boiling water over an open flame suits Jon just fine.

This is what Hollywood need to bring people back to the theatres. Real men representing a true, old-fashioned masculinity. No faking here.

When we say “Burn local,” we ain’t just talkin’ ‘bout reppin’ your zip code—nah, it’s deeper than that. It’s about lightin’ the fire where you stand. You build where your feet at. You cook somethin’ right on your own block ‘til the aroma hit the whole city.

Burnin’ local mean you pourin’ your energy, your art, your hustle into your home turf. You takin’ what you got—your story, your roots, your rawness—and you heatin’ it up so much it glow. You ain't waitin’ for a co-sign from the outside, you makin your own lane in the cracks of the pavement.

But don’t get it twisted—burnin’ local don’t mean stayin’ small. It mean goin’ deep before you go wide. You build the fire at home ‘til the whole world feel the warmth.

So yeah—burn local. Spark where you stand. Keep it solid. Keep it loud. Keep it lit.

So, when we say “burn local but keep it gully,” we talkin’ ‘bout stayin’ rooted where you from—your block, your people, your struggle—but not lettin’ that box you in. Burnin’ local means you puttin’ heat on your own turf, buildin’ from the soil, turnin’ your hood into a hotbed of energy, culture, movement.

You can judge a man by his friends and foes. The people who dislike him? They freeze global with their cynicism. They freeze local with their naps. If these are the people who hate Big B, thats only a good thing.

Word on the streets is that not only did Jon read Odyssey but also consulted with a Greek historian to read the original version in its purest form. Who would've thought this everyday man was also a cultured intellect? Guess he doesn't like to brag about it.

>not only did Jon read Odyssey but also consulted with a Greek historian to read the original version in its purest form
what do you mean 'read'? the source of the Odyssey in greek was oral transmission. jon is a disciple of Albert Lord and has long stood by his dog-eared copy of The Singer of Tales. Jon has had the reconstructed version of the Odyssey in ancient greek idiom committed to memory for a few decades now

Too true. Too many people, in their frozen cynicism, cannot let themselves be appreciative of living in the time of a true actor and role model. Funny thing, in 20 years, they will look back at this time and regret their attitude.

>Bernthal mentions to late night host Conan O' Brien, that after being cast, he started visiting various book stores around the country in order to prepare himself for the role.
>The first visit went smoothly with the 48-year-old even being offered free books. However, things went differently during a visit to a book store in New York City.
>”I go into a book store in Brooklyn," he said. "I get a whole stack and I go up to buy them and he looks at me and goes, 'Yeah, I know who you are.'" The owner then picked apart Bernthal's collection of Homer books and recommended other ones instead. "Do not mess this up," the owner sternly exclaimed.

He will get the real ones reading the classics. The Iliad. The Odyssey. They are not made for global freezers. They were wrote for the working man, the fighter, and the soldier.

I imagine Big B will go on a lecture tour, to talk about his thoughts on The Odyssey.
