I don't know anything about this show/movie, but the fact that it features a racially ambiguous brown diversity hire front and center is already a red flag.

The show has nothing to do with the book but it had an interesting story.
Stuff like how an authoritarian empire deals with conflict by two peovinces or how the emperor deals with a religion crisis took my attention

I haven't seen a more blackwashed and pozzed adaptation of an existing IP. Even fagwars at its worst, churned out original-esque stories BASED on the license.

watched it with my bf last night. it doesnt seem as good as the last two seasons. the foundation stuff felt like a star wars knockoff and empire has lost its touch. the demerzel therapy sessions might be the most interesting part of the season.

There were some aspects of this show that weren't complete dogshit. But the majority of it, was kinda shit.

I think the biggest sin, unfortunately, was that by Season 2 it has essentially devolved into "Two magical black women overpower everyone and save the universe through black girl magic". Like, by that point, all pretense of science-fantasy and intrigue and grand story of consequence and stuff is just ejected so these two brown women can have fight scenes.

Huh, I guess, you don't need to read The Hobbit before TLOTR. It's still prose by an acclaimed modern writer and complements the trilogy, the same happens with Robots and Foundation, and reading them both back to back is highly rewarding
