I was browsing TikTok recently and noticed that Zoomers seem to prefer James Gunnโs interpretation of Superman over Zack Snyderโs version. They appreciate that Gunn's Superman comes across as more down to earth, emotionally accessible, and softer in tone compared to the darker, more stoic portrayal in Snyderโs films.
Additionally, a lot of them really like the character of Lex Luthor in this version. They see him as a "generational hater" and they resonate with how his character ties into broader political themes. One reference that stood out to many was the subtle allusion to the Israel/Palestine conflict. Given that a significant portion of Gen Z tends to be pro Palestinian in their political views, that aspect of the story struck a chord with them as well.
I guess I will watch the film Today tho.
