Zoomers like new Superman
I was browsing TikTok recently and noticed that Zoomers seem to prefer James Gunnโ€™s interpretation of Superman over Zack Snyderโ€™s version. They appreciate that Gunn's Superman comes across as more down to earth, emotionally accessible, and softer in tone compared to the darker, more stoic portrayal in Snyderโ€™s films.
Additionally, a lot of them really like the character of Lex Luthor in this version. They see him as a "generational hater" and they resonate with how his character ties into broader political themes. One reference that stood out to many was the subtle allusion to the Israel/Palestine conflict. Given that a significant portion of Gen Z tends to be pro Palestinian in their political views, that aspect of the story struck a chord with them as well.

I guess I will watch the film Today tho.

Seems like one could just as easily project Russia/Ukraine or Serbia/Kosovo onto the conflict. It was weird, it felt like the invading dictatorship was Balkan and the invaded country was somewhere in the Sahel.

the difference between zoomers and gen x/millennials is that they aren't as cynical

Zoomer here.
Grew up with Snyder.
I can remember sitting in the backseat of my mom's car in 2014 thinking that 2016 was so far away.
I had dreams about BvS I was so excited to see it.
Ultimately, I liked the fight scene and found everything else boring.
This is a better Superman movie than MoS.

wait wait wait. Why is John cena in this universe? I thought he was part of the old universe. He was in the tv interview in this movie. So was his tv show set in this universe? That means batman already exists as his show talks about Batman.

I thought it was explicitly a post-Soviet dictatorship, considering they stated that both countries were in Eastern Europe
But it makes even less sense why spear-chucking Indians would be living in a desert right next to Belarus or something

Oh lol they are actually gonna address why there are holdovers from Peacemaker/Suicide Squad? I thought they were gonna brush it under the carpet and shrug their shoulders that it's a dumb comic thing the audience should go along with, like Dench reappearing as M in Casino Royale. Nothing autistic, simply we liked he as M so she's coming along for the reboot

Hi! I'm a fellow zoomer. I also enjoyed the new Superman movie by Director James Gunn staring David Corenswet a great deal.
That movie was the shizzle, bras!
I'm glad you posted a picture of Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor. The best version of Luthor to this day.
I LOVE how they mad the characters more relevant to the current generation (my own!). No more stilted old ok boomer actors for this movie, I'll tell you what.
By the way I'm looking forward to Hulu's King of the Hill sequel coming soon.
I LOVE how in touch with his emotions they made Superman/Clark. It's like I was watching myself on screen. I was also impressed how woke the movie was without being obnoxious about it. The best of both worlds.
Krypto was so GOOD. Such a good boy. I hope they have Krypto toys for pets on sale soon. I would sooo buy a cape for my poper.
Frak Snyder-lovers. They don't know what a good movie kinno is.
