Now that Superman is out, and it's doing pretty good and audiences like it (I thought it was good, fun), Gunn needs to take some lessons from this:
>budgets for next films need to be smaller, yes do great films but not big budgets too
>keep big budgets for event films and sellers like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Justice League
>lessers known characters need budget under $100 million
>Supergirl needs to move her release date because June is packed, I say move her in May

Now onto Batman, Gunn recently read the script for The Batman: Part Two and said it's great, casting is starting in August, I think with filming late 2025 for 2027 release date (October 1). I think Gunn should either merge Reeves Batman with DCU or cancel it. Because two concurrent Batman franchises at the same time won't work. That's too much, no matter how different and how good both of them are. I personally don't buy the anti merger talks on Pattinson Batman, his Gotham can work in DCU and Gunn did say DCU will have different genres of films and feels.

Also, if they do merge The Batman into DCU, I think they need to drop Batfamily from their plans, atleast for now and build them up instead. I say they should take these decisions now for the future, both short term and long term.

Don't merge it. Just cast Pattinson as DCU's Batman.

Gunn has already confirmed the brave and the bold is about Tim Drake, Batman’s biological son, being a hell hound and Bruce having to be a father, and how the bat family exists. Gunn WILL move ahead with his vision of Batman if all goes well and he’s not going to retcon his vision so he can shoe horn in Pattinson. I’m not saying it should happen, but I think the “Different tones” excuse doesn’t really fly to be honest.

Batman/Gotham is supposed to be dark and Superman/Metropolis is supposed to be bright and light hearted. It’s that way in the comics and doesn’t stop them from coexisting in the same universe. The Woodstock festival and 9/11 have very different “tones” but they both happened in the real world, lmao.

Also, MCU ruined movies. Jesus, a movie universe can't have different tones? MCU having the same tone makes it feel like one show with many episodes.

I think the very fact that Superman is tracking only okay numbers so far is going to push Gunn, whether he likes it or not, into making this happen. Pattinson is going to be the battery that jumpstarts interest in the universe.

Like how audiences were confused when Terrence Howard was replaced with Don Cheadle? Audiences can tolerate recasts as long as the studio doesn't go too far with them, and the fact that modern studios are so scared to do it often leads to worse solutions (see: Black Panther 2).

Matt Reeves and James Gunn are smart enough to make it work if they decide that’s what they want to do. Reeves didn’t sound too against it in the fall when promoting Penguin, so I’m hoping he just wanted to see the response to Superman first. I don’t see how it would be all that different from Batman comics or the animated series jumping from very grounded stories to more fantastical ones. It can be done. They’ve already gotten pretty fantastical with the drugs and psychology stuff in both The Batman and The Penguin.
