>The Hunted (2013)
Simple, yet effective. This is just a good FF innawoods movie. I most shocked by the acting being good, and it actually seemed like they were friends. Would definitely recommend.
>Next Door (2005)
This was boring. I just wasn't into it at all, and just didn't work as a psychological horror movie. It hits cliches, has a twist, and tries to be edgy, which I get, given it was released in the peak of "torture porn" era. I'm sure others will like it, but it wasn't for me.
>>212661938Nah, Part 7 was the best one.
>>212667994>>The Hunted (2013)It's actually based on a real-life experience the star had.
>>212661403 (OP)The video game copied the design of the originals, and 8 doesn't look that bad, I think it's because he's melting by the time the mask comes off. We never got to see Jason in Goes to Hell without the mask, but there was a design under the mask

Should I invest my time in this franchise? Is it good? I think I watched the first one long time ago and I liked it.

>>212673119If you're an evangelical christian and think Ghost Adventures is a documentary maybe
>>212668760it's not that deep
Pissman interracial porn was deleted so I think /hor/ is in the clear for a couple days.
>>212673173>Ghost AdventuresI like the documentary style TV shows that talk about the history of the "haunted" places, but ghost hunter shows are the worst.
>>212673119First one is good.
Second one is shit.
Third one is better than the second, but not as good as the first.
And all the spinoffs are shit.
>>212673885>are the worstIn the horror genre to clarify, but maybe not worse than other reality TV shows, yeah
>>212673885I mention Ghost Adventures specifically because Zak Bagans was groomed by the real life Ed and Lorraine Warren and follows their same exact evangelical with dashes of catholic aesthetics scare tactic nonsense that's patently ridiculous to anyone who's actually christian and you see the same thing in the movie as he does in his show.
It's always the same formula
>demons and ghosts are different things>psychics are real but only the christian psychics are good >if you know the demons name you have power over them somehow >anything that you could put into groups of 3 is demonic >haunted demonic objects are real and can kill you and only certain people who charge money to look at them can control them It's the worst kind of religious horror because it has nothing to do with faith or belief it's just shit these 2 assholes made up.
>>212668760If I had a nickel for every horror movie I watched that centered around a woman with a secret parasitic sibling with psychic powers I'd have... 3 nickels
>>212673885I'll never understand the appeal of those kinds of shows. Are there people dumb enough to actually think they'll show proof of a ghost, bigfoot, UFO, aliens, etc.? Seriously, I know some people are incredibly stupid, but there can't be anyone THAT fucking retarded, right?
>>212668760Neither is that bad, anon, come on. Visitor Q especially is just a family comedy remake of Pasolini's Teorema that ramps up the absurdity to a thousand for dramatic effect, it's actually quite a lovely film when you get to the end.
>>212674060>Zak Baganswell, I dislike him most of all because he's such a dude-bro. Is he even actually religious? There was a thread on /x/ a long time ago about GA and someone said Zak was gay. The OP or some other poster had such a meltdown about how many hot women Zak has "bedded" I almost think it had to be him.
>>212674272Yeah, and nothing ever happens. They "hear" something or see a shadow, etc. Unless you watch the over the top shows where they pretend to get possessed.
>>212674463I'll still say, if someone wants to pay me (while coving all travel expenses) and record me hugging the Anabelle doll to prove that it's all bullshit, I'm game. Same thing with all those "world's haunted" bullshit. I'll gladly explore and stay there overnight. Worst that can happen is some random junkie homeless person tries to kill me.
>>212674655I'm pretty skeptical and not a big believer that those places are haunted, but the history that makes them "haunted" is interesting. Not sure I would hug Anabelle. Not that I think it's really cursed, but there's the whole manifestation of beliefs thing and whatnot, 'what if enough people believe it's cursed,' etc. I guess I'd rather not find out for sure
ghosts are real, some places are definitely haunted
>>212664410Okay I've seen it, it's another Japanese people are the devil movie. Was pretty fucking good though, just like Exhuma

It's pretty hilarious.
They are perma-butthurt.
>>212675792not even just horror, i've seen korean films where the japanese shouldn't even be involved yet they're still jammed in there as some kind of tertiary background villain
first that comes to mind is the good, the bad, and the weird. a korean western film and right in the middle of it the japanese army just pops in to remind the audience who the real villain is
>>212673705>interracial pornTechnically it was a phone picture of his screen showing Mimsy Farmer's first breakdown in the morgue in Autopsy
But we can date his camera roll because of the image count and he only found out about it from my watching it because the weather's been too hot
In my defense, when I posted it, I purposefully didn't mention the morgue sex breakdown, even though the film is a masterclass in lens effects as its title Sunspots suggests, because I knew if he found out about it, we'd get a phone photo of his screen
I think he's trying to watch things we mention to fit in now, so expect more phone photos of laptop screens lol
>>212675524Itโs more of those porcelain-era dolls that are creepy. Thereโs some elegant and beauty ones, but I think itโs the eyes that are settling.
>>212675893Itโs probably a Korean male masculinity issue. When you look up stories about them online it seems like they have a lot of issues, to where they have a much lower birth rate than Japan.
>>212675893I know a few people who moved to Japan or did the JET program for a few years and their stories about the korea-japan stuff is really funny like local news will occasionally have stories that are basically like "korean guy falls down stairs what an asshole" it's so petty and deep rooted.

Maybe I'm too old but the humor I found that specific kind of very aware reddit and twitter exist millennial writing that's been plaguing American media since The Office was on air. There's only 1 real actually gorey scene/on screen kill in the uncut version, the others are like a tiny explosion somehow killing people when it looks like someone set off 1 firecracker.
I guess it's decently watchable but it definitely feels like the intended audience is like a 22 year old who still watches movies based on young adult fiction.
>>212684745It's very mid. I'd watch and Child's Play film over it.

>>212683977I like Terrifier, but I will be one to admit that the first film (and All Hallows Eve 1) don't really have much of a plot. Its just a clown going around killing people with violent kills. The second one has more of a plot, but some people may find that its more to its detriment because its two hours long and loses steam in the final act.
Halfway through my first HGL flick and damn, while there aren't a lot of kills, what little they have show off some pretty gnarly gore. Also liked the main character Gentry, he's a charming dickhead detective that moves like a pimp.
No shortage of titties either. Fun bit of 70s sleaze so far.
Watching the Warlock movies. I saw them all last year. The sequels are good, but I really liked the first one and was a bit disappointed how much they went in a different direction with the overall tone and story.

last time I ever do a blind watch of something without looking at a trailer or spoilers desu I didn't outright hate it but I had this whole headcanon conspiracy theory for the story about how the friend group were actually evil all along because the girls and guys act like sociopaths and this whole thing about taking responsibility was actually because his parents covered up for him and the fag male lead was actually a sadist that killed his sister and the kids destroyed the town by setting the factory on fire and getting away with it. I also theorized the other fag character (the weird guy) was actually the son of one of the workers and was killing the friend group off but no, the movie veered into generic fagshit with a generic as fuck premise. I blame the whole "dont judge a book by its cover" bullshit because it set my expecations high

>>212693201>Shudder presentsThere's your problem anon, shuddur slop is so sterilised & infectedm with DEI.
I avoid that shit like the plague & suggest you do the same.
>>212694452Lmao read this in Trey Parkerโs voice.
>>212694718nta but there's a bunch of stuff they've made worth watching. they fund a lot of regional films, way bigger range of countries.

>>212694848Nope
>>212694948Yeah I watched some of those & they were bad, not to mention ordinary. Shudder have to abide by the "rules" which inhibits their movies.
That's why Damien Leone steers clear of shuddurr so he can make a real horror movie without the DEI advisors tapping him on the shoulder.

BREHS. I am probably a medium spooker on the spook-o-meter, but god damn Missing Child Videotape spooked the shit out of me more than once.
watch this right now if you're a fan of Kairo or Blair Witch Project. I'm a massive fan of those too.
note: The only subtitles I could find were crude and you might like to wait for better ones. The film is mumbly it didn't affect it for me, they just awkwardly reference people in 3rd person / mix up the genders. Although there was a sign that might be important that wasn't translated. I don't think it matters.
>>212697462the subs on avistaz are good
>>212697731Well rip since I don't have access, but I'll read em as they come out. The plot was really good too I give this one like a 9/10 but I'm biased since it's liked someone asked me to list things I find scary and then made a good movie out of it.

Are there any good new found footage movies released recently?
>>212697911How recently. Hell House LLC Origins is probably the last good one I saw.
>>212697911Define recently
Being in a Lovecraft-themed marathon lately. Already seen:
>Pickman's Model
>Dagon
>Re-animator
>From Beyond
>am1200
>The Call of Cthulhu
>Mouth of Madness
>The Void
>Underwater
>Borderlands/Final Prayer
>Messiah of Evil
>Color Out of Space.
>Die. Monster. Die
>The Shuttered Room
>The Curse
>Castle Freak
>The Mist
>The Resurrected
Any additions or warnings?
>>212698599There are a couple of Lovecraftian episodes in Creepshow and LD&R series
>>212698599Also The Dunwich Horror

>16 or 17
>>212673705I picked a good time to come back, nice.
>>212683977It's easily and without question the best ongoing slasher series at the moment. Terrifier 2 and 3 are required watches if you like slashers.
>>212694337>I just felt bad knowing the twistDon't feel bad, they marketed it as a vampire movie and made no attempts to hide it. Kind of funny since the movie treats it as a twist, but everyone who watches it knows what it's about unless they go in 100% blind.
>>212684745Yeah, it's great imo. The director's other film Housebound is very good as well.
>>212697911>>212698424In the past few years, Frogman and Milk & Serial are both very good.
>>212699576>Horror In The High Desert trilogy>Life Of Belle>Never Send Me, Please>Caviar>Mauri Video>Resurrected>Found Footage: The Making Of The Patterson Project>#ChadGetsTheAxe>Incantation>The Incel Tapes
Shit I watched during the heatwave...
The Boy Behind the Door 5/10
The Ruins 6.5/10
Hunting Grounds 4/10
The Sound 2/10
>>212687137Play sega genesis Warlock game. Its on of the best games from the system.
>>212679709I'm hyped, bros.
>>212687520The Great Pumpkin is gonna be a watch this year, I watched that Garfield one and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (plus the Mr Toad short it's attached to) last year.
>>212688920Trick r Treat and Terrifier 2 are the kings of modern Halloween Horror.
>>212688955>>212689006The original and the sequel are great, I haven't watched the remake yet.
>>212687520>>212700077Also, Halloween is Grinch Night is another fun Halloween cartoon. Not super festive Halloween-y aesthetically but it actually dips into horror, it's a cool watch.
>>212692296I feel like I've seen or aware of something like this but I'm probably thinking of deliberate resurrection stuff like Sleepstalker.
Probably not the best example, but is there anything similar to this... like a romcom with horror elements?
It doesn't necessarily have to be good
>>212701398Horror movies that contain romance in some form:
>The Gorge>Heart Eyes>Let The Right One In>Life After Beth>Nina Forever>Honeymoon>Spontaneous>I Love You So Much It's Killing Them (15 minute short)Movies that aren't really horror, but have elements of some kind:
>Spellbound>Low Season>My Boyfriend's Back>My Girlfriend Is A Serial Killer>My Boo
>unrated cut tomorrow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANIuWTibgqg
will it be enough to save this turd?
>>212701670You could probably throw So I Married An Axe Murderer in the latter category too.
Why did someone think megan needed female stand up type comedy? That part where she goes into a 15 minute bit about how vaginas are tough but men are pussies was weird.
>>212701992It's a cool monster movie.
>>212701992eh, not really. it has some moments but overall is disappointing
>>212702241>but overall is disappointingWhat exactly were you expecting?
>>212702382a nic cage performance
>>212702498His performance is good
>>212702534he's barely in it

>>212701398Hmmm, lemme think....
Eat, Love, Brains
Vamps
Love At First Bite
High Spirits
>>212701881No. It'll be enough to save something like 28 Years Later and maybe help it get a part 3, but M3GAN as a series is basically dead in the water. They pivoted too hard from being a horror movie too early, and the series was only really successful for having a lolita robot doing a funny fance.
>>212701398Watch Psychos In Love
>>212694718I'm not a nazi, so I'll continue watching stuff from Shudder

>>212700077>I haven't watched the remake yetYou should
Watched this yesterday, premise sounded fun but execution was really fucking bland and mediocre. Loved the tits of the blonde girl though ngl
>>212694382Fine movie. What did you think of the ending?
>>212668290It looks angry and orcish, the one from Manhattan seems more disturbing cause its genuinely looks like a rotten corpse, has blank expression with zero emotion. Fits Jason's coldness more
>>212709667But Jason is angry.
I mean, that's always the vibe I got. He is getting revenge for the death of his mother. Who wanted revenge for his drowning.
Michael Myers was the one who was just cold about it.
>>212710299he's not angry, he's just being a good boy doing what his mommy is telling him to do
ol' freddy getting some recognition, it seems
>>212710341you do know they pay to get those right
>>212705381Agreed, Smile 2 is better.
>>212710361Yeah but you also need to prove to the same kind of person who votes in the academy awards you deserve one. Adam West famously kept getting denied even though Kevin Smith was lobbying for him and willing to pay for it until Smith finally talked to the right person.
>>212710299>Jason is angryi never got that from Jason, he seems more like a malign force of nature than an angry avenger to me. Rotting unkillable corpse that roams the woods and kills anyone he can find is a scary idea, and 8th face fits it more i think. The 7th one is also good, but it doesnt look dead enough, it has emotion. I think the idea of Jason's face being as cold and emotionless as his mask is better than angry face under emotionless mask. In Jason's case atleast.
>>212710341Is he really known for anything outside of A Nightmare on Elm Street though? I thought you had to have a pretty robust filmography and celebrity to get one of these
>>212711614He had a lot of minor roles in 70s, 80s, 90s tv shows and movies. V and V The Final Battle being the more noteworthy ones. In terms of horror, Wishmaster, the 89 version of Phantom of the Opera, The Mangler, Urban Legend, Hatchet, Zombie Stripper, etc. But you're right, NOES is and always will be the big one for him.
