they're both very miserable movies in similar ways but i think pusher 3 is a bit different, tonny gets out of prison and wants to change and all of a sudden has a kid to take care of, but finds everybody around him is a scumbag beyond saving. pusher 3 is more about a guy getting older and having to save himself while being forced to come to terms with not having the skills and respect he once had.

i had the music from the wedding scene in my head for so long but didn't really catch it was from there until a recent rewatch. pusher 2 is the relatable one as an outcast young guy but pusher 3 is the most thorough character study with milo trying his best to navigate through his life as he ages and trouble keeps piling on

A lot of the non-actors he used were drug dealers or involved with them. So they provided a lot of very authentic insights along with already knowing the right mannerisms.

the point of these movies is the environment and shittiness of the people, similar to the sopranos, other gangster movies make it out like the organisations are super powerful and have these codes and will track down people across countries. tonny [spoiler/kills his dad who is high up in the world but nobody respects him so its possible they won't suspect him, nobody knows about the task he was given either so he likely gets away. the endings are only open enough for you to get the point that they should/could have just ran away and not be around all those retarded subhumans and try to be better.

danes seem to have a pretty vital culture industry, although it's basically the same group of actors that show up in a lot of stuff and almost all of their most original and bold ideas come from von Trier's production company. swedes have Bergman and a couple of high-profile actors. they used to make decent crime thrillers, both movies and series, but i have no idea how they fizzled out over the years. here in Norway the kino industry is basically ruled by inheritance and nepotism. very rarely will you see someone come up with something unique like Skam or Exit, and it's even rarer to see a creator or director come from nothing. we're also fucking obsessed with world war 2 for some reason.
