The Bechdel test is a shitty test because it is neither sensitive nor specific. It doesn't indicate anything about the film's theme or message or even its characters. That's a good point. It seems all kind of implausible, atleast the way it's told. And at that point the story has gone through several language barriers: Plautdietsch victims to spanish authorities to english journalists.
