Since finding it on a 'double feature' DVD at my local thrift shop, I have scoured the internet and I can't find a single post about this movie. No information outside of basic actors' credits on IMDB/Wikipedia. No torrents (although I did find copies of the director's other films.) Not even a single fucking leddit post.
I'm going to rip the DVD and probably host a watch party for this and a couple of the director's others movies some time soon.

Used to go to Family Video every Wednesday and rent every new release on DVD. It didn't matter how obscure the film was, they would stock at least one copy of every new release. There were hidden gems most weeks that very few peiople watched, and were liekly direct to dvd and never aired in theaters. Films like "Riot" and "Mall", both in the mid 2000's, were pretty good.

Performance (1970)

> A violent East London gangster (James Fox) undergoes a transformation of identity while hiding from his former colleagues in the home of a jaded Bohemian rock star (Mick Jagger) and his two girlfriends.

I listened to my dad's classic rock CD collection as a teenager and got into the Rolling Stones. I learned that Warner Bros. greenlighted this movie because they thought it would be the counterpart to The Beatles' lighthearted A Hard Day's Night movie, but were sorely mistaken. Lots of messed up stuff went down during filming, James Fox quit acting and became an evangelist for several years after starring in Performance. It's the movie that started me on the redpill, it got me interested in occult influences in the entertainment industry, philosophy, and it introduced me to the Old Man of the Mountain, getting me interested in Persian culture
