>>212680413There's more hope in the air now than in any year since 2019. Hell, in many ways, it even looks like 2016 again. Even the sky looks normal now, blue and clear, as it should be. It's almost like the last five years we've been living in the shittiest reality ever with a grim, gray filter on. Now, we're finally back and free, and the future looks bright yet again. But this movie and its political messaging are relics of the past 5 years and the regime strongly associated with stagnation, war, inflation, and border crisis. It feels like Gunn hasn't realized that the vibe has shifted already and that no one cares about his pro-immigration stance and fake reverence toward the third world and illegals from there. That's the main problem with the movie. And I know why it bombs in Europe and East Asia, because these countries are still controlled by anti-national governments and politicians, and people are too sick of them and their values, that's why Superman just doesn't fit right.
