>QOTDWho is your favourite vulgar auteur?
Previous
>>212658916
Vulgar auteur just means untalented director.
>>212698664 (OP)>qotdLove this guy, probably my favorite action star if I had to choose. Excellent mix of camaraderie, offbeat humor, action, chases, brooding vulnerability, flawed overconfidence. Surprisingly decent director, Sharky's Machine is one of my favorite minor neo-noirs.
>>212699009Michael Bay is a hero in this house, end of story.
Album of the thread
Including the Japanese bonus CD which features two great tracks and a "Karaoke" version of a track from the album which i thought would be an instrumental but it's just the same track again for some reason
Tujiko Noriko is /film/ btw as she has made a soundtrack for an arthouse short Kuro and an indie psychological thriller Surge.
FRed Lavigne belongs in the shkreets and his films belong in the trash.
>>212700063just listened to "Bikini" and wtf is this drivel
>>212700063good looking, anon. i like 'empty' from that one. i also like 'zipper' from tokyo to naigara, which was a work of ZAK
/film/ is still discussing the provocative art of FRed Lavigne meanwhile they have forgotten every other movie at that festival. Who really won?
>>212700235Make Me Hard is my favourite album of hers so far, Empty is great but my favourite tracks are Give Face and Penguin
On Tokyo To Niagara i think i like Robot Hero and Rocket Hanabi the most
I have also listened to Sojo toshi (including the bonus tracks of I Forgot The Title EP which itself is selected tracks from the first album and Robot Hero Live), Blurred in My Mirror, RATN, 28 and the recent Echoes in the Hem EP so far
Blurred in My Mirror is a bit too unfocused for me, but if you like the more experimental part of her work you might really enjoy it
Shojo Toshi is very good, the bonus EP is okay, Pop Skirt is one of my favourite tracks from her and Robot Hero Live is a neat bonus, but i do think the tracks mostly feel detached from context (i probably should listen to the debut album those tracks are from)
28 is kinda uneven, two tracks are variations of the track from Make Me Hard (Fly), both are good, but there's stuff like Doki Doki Last Night and especially 26th Floor that's just not interesting and this album specifically has some glitchy sounds that are kind annoying
When The Night Comes is beautiful tho, and Alien too is a great track although I actually prefer the version of this song from a decent side project RATN, she did one album on that project - J, and it's decent although too kinda uneven and sometimes unfocused
The EP from this year - Echoes on The Hem - is one 20 minute track, it's mostly ambient (she mostly been doing ambient music lately) but quite pleasant and actually reminds me a bit of that Fishmans album
>>212700394a sad state of affairs
thankfully anime has been saved
>>212700693Fuck off tranny
>>212700599>reminds me a bit of that Fishmans albumFunny you should mention that. The producer I mentioned before, ZAK, was also the long time producer for Fishmans from Neo Yankees' Holiday onwards. I'll have to check out that new one if it's anything like Long Season.
>>212700816Long Season is much more eclectic, Echoes on the Hem as I said is basically an ambient record, not GAS, there are more discernible melodies and changeups over the course of the single 20 minute track but still ambient
It being a single track with some subtle changeups but still firmly a uniform piece is the part that reminded me of LONG SEASON
>>212700693Sent that freak flying.
>>212698664 (OP)>qotdit's a tie between abel ferrara and john waters

Lensbros how do we respond to this without sounding like we got sent flying?
The more I think about it the less I care for it. It's extremely artificial. I was unconvinced of anything it was trying to tell me, including its own plot and characters.
>>212700984>without sounding like we got sent flyingGet his ass by leaning into the Breedy Bobby angle. Make fun of his relationship with Wiazemsky.
Alright which one of you made the Brooke thread on the 'log
>>212702328Probably Dingo.
>>212701266It was an anime live-action tier film, stop pretending was something important you posers
To see Breedy Bobby films is to renew one's distress at those glimpses of grim malignance in his life.
Can you guys recommend me films like In the Mood for Love and 2046 that deal with themes of love, loss and loneliness in the same way?

>>212710194Iโm looking forward to Lancelot the most. Une femme douce seems like a bit of a chore. 4 Nights seemed the same but the 4K release made it significant to me in the same way that owning Jeanne dโArc on Blu-ray did for me. However, I thought Mouchette would be a chore and it ended up being my favourite of all, so perhaps Une femme douce will surprise me too.
Iโm also looking forward to LโArgent because I want to see his style developed to its most analmost, asceticmost level. When I started, I thought Country Priest was austere, but if I rewatched it now after all the subsequent ones, it would probably seem melodramatic.
Actually, the film Iโm looking forward to rewatching most is Andrei Rublev, my favourite Tarkovskino, which I now keep thinking of as a film in the Bressonian tradition (and we know of course that AT was a Mouchettefag).
