>>212702308 >match going >suddenly hear Vince's theme >he runs in, ruining the match for whoever he's trying to fuck over >suddenly the screen and speakers activate again
>>212702781 >the man who made the most money for the company than any other wrestler in history other than John Cena (which is massively inflated) was never a draw
what kind of smark are you?

Shane is really amazing because you expected him to be the most pathetic nepo baby and he apparently carried that like a chip on his shoulder that made him want to try to kill himself as hard as guys like Mick Foley

I weep for what could've been if Shane had just been as vicious/pragmatic as Steph/H and fucked over his father for the good of the product and overtook him but he's not a bad guy at heart and is the only one who didn't turn on Vince after the smear campaign bought and paid for by Hunter and Steph.
Kurt Angle has a strong case for being the best wrestler ever. His wrestling was second to none, he was an amazing promo cutter and had an immense presence at just his first year in the business when it took The Rock years to hone his on-screen persona. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xEN6j_yjh8
>growing up as eastern europoors >watching RAW and Smackdown at 10PM hiding from out mothers >we didn't even know those were teasers for the PPV events, we just loved the action >everybody had a favorite wrestler >we did mock WWF fights on the beach
good fucking times

never appreciated him as a kid because I thought he was just a clown. Only now do I understand what an amazing heel he was. Plus a genuine Olympic athlete

Vince vs Austin is the greatest rivarly in any piece of media ever. The disgruntled blue collar man sticking it to his boss and humiliating him over and over. it was cathartic on a massive scale. which made his heel turn that much more kino.

Pro wrestling was the cultural zeitgeist of the world from mid-1996 to its absolute peak in 1999
Anons that weren’t around in the late 90s can’t comprehend how much of a phenomenon it actually was
>>212703821
Seconded. It was must-watch in the truest sense. A true cultural moment. It could've easily kept up its momentum well into the 2000s if Shane had been given the reins and kept up the hard edge and fixed the creative issues.
