No, he doesn't. The Kents are portrayed as simple people, who don't know how to use phones and say embarrassing things. When they call Clark, it's established he wasn't called in a while, and he's monosyllabic, eager to end the conversation. He focuses on his cool space parents and their message. But when the message is fully translated, Clark is lost. His faith in his Kryptonian heritage is shattered. And that's when the Kents come in. They're simple, and a bit silly. But they're good, honest, understand people, who back their son 100%. It's only then that Superman can truly appreciate his parents.
