I don't watch movies in theaters anymore. The experience isn't worth the money. I still watch new IPs though. I just finished watching Common Side Effects. However, I will never watch Elio even when it's done in theaters. I'm trying to minimize my kids' exposure to queer propaganda for as long as possible.

What is the experience and pricing like where you are? I go to matinees on random days off if there is something interesting on. Its cheap (matinee), never crowded, and always clean. I love going to the theater at like 9am. I would never go at night.

Also I guess it depends on how you view the cost of a movie ticket. In principle it is expensive, but I may see one movie a month and it is a $9 ticket at a nice theater. I am lucky in that part

It's only about $10 for me, but it's rare that I have time to myself. I can't imagine having an opportunity to go to a theater without bringing at least one of my kids, and they demand snacks so it's $30 minimum for a 2 hour event. I can still afford that, but I'd rather spend my money in other ways.

This is the greatest crime. How did Disney end up getting rid of romance in all their movies after years of princesses falling in love? I remember the girl from Wish was supposed to fall in love with the star in the original script, but they cut it and made the movie as bland as possible.

New Pixar has an odd breed of narcissism that makes them unable to apply general concepts without also making it about their specific issues.
In theory, it should hardly be rocket science to make some allegory to puberty and overbearing parents without fucking it up. Likewise with Elio, it shouldnโ€™t be hard to write a story about alienation and belonging, but still they couldnโ€™t manage it.

I think it may be for interstellar, it was more than 10 yr ago and it was because I met my gf, now wife, not long ago, so it was mainly to get to fuck in her car after the movie. And that part was pretty good.
It was around new year eve, several weeks after its release, it was on a small ass screen, some niggers disturbed the movie making noise several times. the popcorn was disgusting. We got the full experience, it was awful.
Since I had a projector at my place, and she's the opposite of the hdmi cable plug in meme, she's cheap so she get instantly moist when she see I can get her anything she wants from my private tracker, we never went to a theater since and I regret nothing.

Pixar exists because they made originals.
It doesnโ€™t mean theyโ€™re owed success.

Itโ€™s crazy how entitled these corpos are. When capeshit fails itโ€™s the audience fault somehow. Snyderbros sunk the new Superman! Racist sunk some shitty tv series with a black protagonist! Right wingers reviewbombed this woke movie!
If not for the evil audience all our slop would be a success!

If you want more originals youโ€™re at fault when they fail. If you want less capeshit you canโ€™t complain about it because you're a racist sexist right wing saboteur of fine Hollywood movies. The audience is like an eternal antagonist in these media battles.

Meanwhile โ€œlow conflictโ€ genres like horror just keeps trucking because they use low budgets and play to the audience. Arthouse is almost dead but A24 can exist and release weird shit to acclaim and success, again because of modest budgeting.

The expectation of every movie being a fuckhuge billy project with 20 sequels isnโ€™t created by the audience itโ€™s a beancounter suit expectation.
