What is the experience and pricing like where you are? I go to matinees on random days off if there is something interesting on. Its cheap (matinee), never crowded, and always clean. I love going to the theater at like 9am. I would never go at night.

Also I guess it depends on how you view the cost of a movie ticket. In principle it is expensive, but I may see one movie a month and it is a $9 ticket at a nice theater. I am lucky in that part

I think it may be for interstellar, it was more than 10 yr ago and it was because I met my gf, now wife, not long ago, so it was mainly to get to fuck in her car after the movie. And that part was pretty good.

For me, arthouse cinemas are a good experience for me that is worth the money. Some films are meant to be seen on the big screen. Some of the most enjoyable ones I saw the past year were Akira, 2001 A Space Odyssey, and the Cowboy Bebop film
