The Shield is okay. It's just a mid basic cable show. You chuds only like it because it's trashy and racist and pre-PC and it has the soundtrack your dad listened to in the garage before he took off and left you with your mom.
The dialogue is really lame and basic, the casting is spotty, and aside from Whitaker's acting in one season and them following the story to the end, it's not all that impressive.

Is it just me or is the appeal of these threads for non Shield fanboys just to see how shamelessly and autistically the OP defends his overestimation of the show? That's really what keeps me reading them. The strawman shit against The Wire, assuming those shows are in direct competition and anyone saying the Shield is less than the greatest is some Wire apologist. And the denial that The Shield being super underrated is an uncommon opinion. The funniest part is that no one thinks The Shield is shitty. Everyone just thinks it's decent.
