I'm not a zoomer but that doesn't look so bad.
Incidentally, I tried to read the manuscripts of Henry Darger but I just can't read cursive for 10k pages. And the few typed incomplete works I found are very low quality and faded.

Cursive is literally taught in a way that makes it pointless. You can run letters together in a way that saves time when writing, but itโ€™s taught as an arbitrary hyper-specific script with exact prescribed forms you have to copy. The result is it takes twice as long to write and is half as legible.

it's traditional handwritten script, and the most common form of writing for the educated throughout the history of modernity (1500-forward). The uneducated couldn't even write, or read, long before the existence of printed typography, and the printing press.

tl;dr cursive is for the smart.

This is less of a retarded thing and more of a tech increase. Classic hand clocks are obsolete but faggot men wear watched and people like them for nostalgic purposes, despite them being obsolete for over half a century (I think).
I am 40 and I remember only learning them correctly in my early teenage years. I knew 24 hour clocks before knowing a time piece clock.
Its the same way a sun dial is now obsolete.
Or a type writer.
No zoomer is gonna know how to use either as they are completely obsolete and superseded by new and better tech.

gay is a slang word for homosexuals you zoomer retard.
Gay the word means to be joyous.
In a similar way queer is also a slang, and the definition is to be weird.
You see why they called fags gay, because they are fruity weirdos and you see why they called weirdos queer, because they are weirdos.
Funnily enough, up until the jewish tranny propaganda after they made that american tennis player tranny "woman" of the year, calling someone a tranny (transvestite) was not a derogatory term.
Similarly calling someone a nigger (a nigger) was also not a derogatory term.
that is why you should never change your language to suit PC culture, because they will try and change definitions of words and attempt to make you follow suit.
Spastic (again once not a derogatory term) is a spastic
Tranny is a tranny
Nigger is a nigger
Faggot is you

Very funny to hear a millennial talk about being disappointing considering millennial men are the weakest generation of men on average by far with grip strength equivalent to women, a generation that will literally never own a home because they are too focused on reminiscing about a past they will never return to, busy complaining about every fucking aspect of their life while the generation below them has it significantly worse in every way.
I'm sure constantly thinking about the generation below you and speaking about them like they are fucking aliens every single waking moment of your life totally isn't obsession. Remember when millennials swore that they wouldn't repeat the mentality boomers had towards them? Oh well!

>watch it operate for ten seconds
not only can you not read a clock, you can't read fullstop. the hands on an analogue clock don't instantly jump from one number to the next, they're always moving at a minute (my-noot, not min-uht) level. the minute (min-uht, not my-noot) hand moves fast enough you can physically see it change position if you pay attention. I know that's hard for a zoomer to do, but I believe you can do it if you try.
>how do you know the 6 means 30
do you not know how many seconds are in a minute? how many minutes are in an hour? if you don't know that you've got bigger problems than not being able to read a clock. again, you can simply watch the machine for <1 minute operate and gain a reasonable understanding of what it's telling you.

Because once you identify the minute hand, which takes literal seconds even if you've never seen one before, it should be pretty obvious what the 1-12 numbers are indicating, and why there are 60 notches on a clock. Which makes more sense in your head, it's 6:43 or 43:6?

You dont understand what obsolete means. You seem to only understand it in context, rather than definition.
Just because something becomes obsolete does not mean it looses its function.
A perfect example is a letter, email made letters obsolete, but people still send letters.
As for a digital clock it is much more economical for the job and made hand clocks obsolete.
Just being a 24 hour clock alone makes it far superior to a hand clock which of course only has 12 hours.

Clock faces are obsolete for keeping time, sure. But their function is to distinguish the upper class or those worthy of it from the rest. This is why successful people continue to wear watches, write in cursive, adhere to dumb French etiquette, etc. It's an easy filter when you're trying to see if someone is worth your time. Those who can't keep up with this convention are let to sink into the brown sludge at the bottom while those who can help each other out and stay on top. Just how it works.

This is faggot shit really.
Its like having an expensive car despite not being able to actually go past the speed limit.
Its basically like a trinket to show off that you have money. You know the expression of a small dick guy getting a flashy car to compensate.
Not something an actual real man would care about.
We have mobile phones in our pockets as mod cons so a watch itself is pretty much obsolete.
You ever noticed how those insecure faggot type of me have their watched outside of their cuffs...its to show off. its gay basically, Jewellery.
Originally its a practical tool, but you would keep under your cuff and only take it out when you need to know what time it is.
These fags use it as gay shit, to say "look how expensive my watch is, I have money, look at me"
Realistically unless you are a wagie time should mean very little anyway.

I had to do a deep dive into county land records from the 1800's. It was always a toss-up when the county clerk elections came up. You could see the change in handwriting as the clerk (who would be writing up the property sales) changed. One guy had horrible writing; a real chore to read; another had handwriting far better than the example I gave.

For one they were writing with quills or fountain pens instead of ballpoint pens or pencils.
In the case of the chancery style I posted, it was mean for people that had to write a lot of documents like the church, courts and universities, so it being hard to read for the semi-literate wasn't an issue and it was faster than earlier blackletters, also the words were more distinct from each other so it was superior if you were used to it. They had to abbreviate most common words because paper was expensive, but that wasn't an issue because everyone knew what the abbreviations meant, it also was considered pretty and very fancy, so they kept modifying it to make it prettier and fancier until the point it became too ornamented and kind of a pain so they changed it for something more readable.

>Classic hand clocks are obsolete
No? They perform the same function as digital clocks just as well. The format is only worse for use on digital platforms where space is more valued than it is on a wall, but the actual clocks themselves are equivalent to anyone who isn't failing a very simple knowledge/reasoning check. Anyone who can't read a digital clock is retarded, not because they weren't taught, but because they're too stupid to look at it for 10 seconds and parse its function.
>oh this one hand moves really fast, almost every second
Now, they can either wait for about a minute to figure out the solution to this extremely complex issue for forever, OR they can make a well-reasoned guess
>this other hand is longer. Maybe it's longer to give more accuracy to the smaller marks on this clock. The 12 bigger marks must be hours, so the smaller marks are minutes and seconds, so it stands to reason that the longer mark is made for more precise reading of minutes
Voila. They solved the fucking mystery. Stop blaming tech advances for people's unwillingness or inability to use their fucking brains.

What's the point of writing in Cursive like it's Calligraphy?
Cursive was developed in the first place as a "faster" version of traditional handwriting for the fast and efficient documenting of information prior to the invention of the Typewriter. It's literally intended, and was created to be, "shitty-looking but fast, efficient & practical handwriting". Trying to make that look GOOD is like trying to make C++ code "look aesthetically pleasing", or using comparatively expensive materials & time-consuming manufacturing to make Disposable Cameras or Party-Poppers.

Since when? They're still commonly-used and they have several situational advantages over Digital-Clock read-outs, such as being more easily readable from a greater distance and consuming less power due to not needing to illuminate itself.

the meaning shifted because it meant happy. it was originally a dogwhistle, because most people would hear it as 'happy' whilst people in the know would understand the real meaning. queer and 'confirmed bachelor' were the same.

Zoomers are balding and aging at a quicker rate than Millennials. All they have is their youth and once thats up everyone will realize what a wet fart that generation was. There will be no zoomer authors, no zoomer painters, not even zoomer managers. People say that every generation is worst than the last but it's never true. Zoomers are the exception that proves the rule.

Getting old is so humbling. When you were young all the old people were complaining about young people and seemed ignorant now that you are old young people appear obnoxious and you feel like you are right and you realize that thats how the old people felt about you and you are not special.

The way I heard it, gay was the faggots' way of trying to take a positive word to ameliorate faggotry. Normal people would rightly call them fruits, faeries, queers, and the like. The same way fags stole the rainbow, they took a very popular positive word and ran it through the mud. You're 100% right we shouldn't capitulate to faggots who want to dictate how we speak.

Meanwhile, millennials are the same gen trying to use AI en masse in the workplace and for recreation because you guys have zero fucking clue how to make shit. No thoughts, no passion, no care for the future, nothing, it's just all incompetence. No wonder why gen alpha's developing so poorly, can't imagine how horrible it'd be to have millennial parents

Itโ€™s nice to see that public schools have given up all pretense of being learning institutions and embraced being taxpayer funded daycare. It wonโ€™t be long before they stop teaching math because numbers are racist.

European zoomer here, when I was a little kid they taught us to write in cursive letters, as in, it was not an alternative way of writing, it was just how we wrote. My question is: what the fuck is non-cursive writing? How the fuck do Americans even write without cursive?

Nah this guy's writing is just pure ass. It's easy to read once you figure out the first word but due to him autistically writing out every letter the same way it's borderline unreadable at a glace. I call this style "I want the teacher to never bother reading anything I write"

I wish I had gotten better at cursive, in theory it's supposed to be a faster writing speed. In junior high someone gifted me a book with scanned versions of famous statesmen correspondence, I spent the whole year writing in huge, tight looping script trying to imitate it, it's pretty funny reading through my notes now.
