My "favorite" little known case is Shanda Sharer... lesbian teens tortured and murdered another little girl in the mid 80s. The description of what went down is a rough read that sticks with you. Basically one 17 year old dyke thought her dyke girlfriend was cheating on her with a 12 year old, and they tortured her to death by shoving rebar up her until she went blind, mad, and eventually died from it all calling for her momma.

They didn't the loot the places at all, just held the people hostage and tortured/killed them and then left. Everyone knows it was a bunch of cops but no one did anything to find out just who exactly they were and convict them. It remains unsolved and will stay that way forever sadly.
