Yeah, imagine saying that about someone who's already killed a dozen people. Or the main character had to kill a ton of henchmen to get to the main antagonist but doesn't end up killing them.
Killing in cold blood is bad, yes. We must be at some terrible level of civilizational disintegration for that even to be a contentious statement instead of an obvious truth.
