I sincerely doubt that James Gunn is ever allowed to use Batman in any of his DCU projects beyond mentions and baiting silhouettes like how the CW used to do. The Batman franchise is the only globally bankable franchise DC/WB have and they won't sully it by infusing it into the DCU which has only one mildly successful movie (which tanked overseas) and one cartoon that no one watched. Matt Reeves has full autonomy on Batman and it's making James Gunn seethe.

Wrong. It was a great financial success given the time it was released in and did great numbers overseas which matters more in the grand scheme of things. It also produced a critically acclaimed HBO show which was nominated for a plethora of Emmys yesterday.

Batman will be an overemotional faggot and the movie will focus on Robin instead and make Batman listen to indie rock in secret as a gag.

Nobody ever said the first. Only Zazlav in his full on PR cope mode said so. Global box office, especially for superhero movies, is critical to a franchise's viability. Right now, the DCU is not viable and they're only pushing through because they've already shot Supergirl and Lanterns are deep in sunk cost fallacy. They're losing money but they'd lose even more money if they disbanded DC Studios and fired Gunn.

You're the delusional and ignorant one. Gunn right now is as far away from Batman as the showrunners on those old CW shows. He can't use him, show him or do anything with him right now because of Reeves and his movies. He's locked out of DC's most prized asset and is pissed about it.

CW wasn't even allowed to say the names Batman or Bruce Wayne in the Arrowverse shows until WB relented in season 6 of Arrow

Just because Superman doesn't immediately set up Batman or have a Bruce Wayne cameo isn't indicative of shit

Nigger you are clearly underage
WB have always and likely will always be massive spergs when it comes to the Batman IP not to mention murky shit when it comes to live action TV right

Why do you think The Batman wasn't in the Penguin even once in the season?
Why did WB have retarded rules for Batman on TV for over 20 years meaning you couldn't show him or Bruce Wayne in live action on screen at all?

They did mention Batman in the CW shows near the end and even showed his suit but the man himself would never be allowed to appear. Simply put, because he's the biggest and most prestige character in the entire comic book medium. But then again, they allowed an old fart version of him on Titans but that was because it was a strictly DC-made show and he never wore the suit.
>>212775835
That also extended to the Joker. Remember the crazy stupid storyline with Jerome Valeska on Gotham?

>The Batman wasn't in the Penguin even once in the season?
Because Penguin takes place right after The Batman and Bruce is prioritized with the fallout of that? Or how about the fact that advertising Batman in Penguin would undermine the show entirely and people wouldn't tune in unless its Batman's episode

You can't escape that, anyway. The last two seconds of the show with Batman's signal were the most talked about and the only thing people remember from it. You just can't get out of the shadow of a character like Batman. it's impossible.

Like I said in the last thread on this subject, have DCU Gotham City be different than Reeves Gotham City. Have DCU Gotham be a place where not only can grounded things like serial killers, terrorists, and crime bosses coexist with outlandish things like cyborgs, ancient cults, and mad scientists.

Batman is great when there's variety among the crimes he has to stop, the Arkham games did that best

There will not be 2 concurrent movie Batmans. Simple as. It's only a matter of who yields first and who's able to outmaneuver who. Right now, Gunn is praying to God that somehow Reeves gets hit by a fucking truck and he's able to get Batman to himself.

There was a failed Spider-Man universe running concurrently to the MCU Spidey flicks

It could be a Hulk situation where Batman has to be paired up with other characters hence why his film is called Brave and The Bold

Retardanon, Covid was over for theaters, NWH had wrapped up it's 2 billies by January of that year, and once again WB couldn't even come in SECOND in the capeshit warz.

It was another disappoint, though not a disaster. Having a stale plot and a boring villain doomed it.

Superman's numbers are the most lukewarm imagineable. Not horrible but nowhere near good. It will only get worse from here. Problem is, Zazlav is too headstrong and won't admit defeat and he's poured too much money into the DCU as is. He'll continue it until a bomb (Supergirl) makes other execs force his hand and cut their losses. From then? Who the fuck knows. DC probably gets put on the backburner and WB only keeps Batman.

Gunn's Slate should have been
>Superman (2025)
>Batman (2026)
>Wonder Woman (2026)
>The Flash (2027)
>Justice League (2028) - Introduce Green Lantern here, have initial JL line up be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern & Flash
>Superman 2 (2028) introduce Supergirl for spinoff potential
>Batman 2 (2029)
>Nightwing (2029)
And so on, save Aquaman and Martian Manhunter for the Justice League sequel

NOOOO you can't go allt he way on the DC cinematic universe idea, you have to have some half-assed slate where half is universe stuff and the other is unrelated Elseworlds you pass off as connected because you want the MCU money and cred but also want to get the Joker/Batreeves crowd too. Basically, James Gunn is a fucking stupid pedophile.
