Johnny is gay int he movie so that absolutely kills any male interest in the character. The "coolest" one that guys would want to be is now some homosexual who doesn't like women or has a personality. Ben doesn't act cartoony or larger than life to make up for his appearance. He isn't jokey, he doesn't meme, he's just some depressed turd that's on the team. I'm tired of Pedro Pascal because he is homosexual and simply cannot play a straight man convincing to save his life. Vanessa Kirby isn't attractive enough to lead a summer blockbuster movie aimed at boys and young men. She isn't the object of affection she absolutely needed to be to keep her name and face in the conversation. Isabela Moner has like a combined 3 minutes of run-time in the new Superman film but everyone is interested in her because she's cute. Same with Cat Grant and the Lois Lane actress. No one has ever made a number of threads dedicated to Kirby because she looks odd. And her acting isn't the best to make up for it.
You know how people would eagerly watch Scarlett Johansson because even if you don't care about her voice or performance she's eye candy and you just feel better from watching beautiful women talking and smiling? Yeah, Kirby doesn't get the same numbers.
