Well, fuck it. I’m laid off this week, so I might as well spill the beans on what I know is happening at DC Studios. I won’t say exactly what I worked on — call me RedGhost. Here’s what I know:

Lanterns
This show is really cool. It’s a lot like True Detective Season 1. Each episode builds up from the perspective of the Lanterns. We also see Oa and get some space scenes. The budget looks pretty big, especially for the effects, think Dune: Prophecy kind of scale.

Supergirl
The release date is being moved to May 2026 to avoid competition with all the June and July films. It’ll probably come out early May, maybe the first weekend. Depends on whether The Mandalorian movie moves up or not.

Clayface
The movie’s going very well. Filming starts in September. The budget is locked at $40 million. Zaslav is expecting it to pick up awards.

Wonder Woman
Fast-tracked for May 2027. Zaslav wants to avoid releasing DC films in June or July until they’ve got a stronger footing. He’s pushing for better release dates. Gunn apparently admitted behind closed doors that keeping Superman on July 11 was a mistake — said it should’ve been in June.

The Batman Part II
Things are going smoothly and fast. Filming begins this fall for a 2027 release. The Batman will officially become part of the DCU, but that announcement will be made at NYCC 2025 when they reveal the next four-year DCU slate. Villain is Prof Pyg and Hush.

Blue Beetle
He’s showing up in Peacemaker Season 2 as a cameo, and Superman will too.

Booster Gold
The show is on hold for now. They’re planning to turn it into a buddy comedy with Blue Beetle. Booster will be younger than most people expect.

Legion of Superheroes
The next movie featuring Superman will be Legion of Superheroes, a team-up with Supergirl to fight Brainiac. The Legion comes from the future to help stop him. Bradley Cooper will return as Jor-El and have a much bigger role this time.

Justice League
The next Justice League film is planned for 2030. The Reach are set to be the big villains of the DCU. Apparently, the whole DCU will be framed as the story of Lex Luthor, kind of like how Guardians of the Galaxy 3 revealed it was always Rocket’s story.

Other projects in the works
There’s also a Bane project, a Deathstroke project, Plastic Man, Arkham Stories, a Teen Titans film (currently on hold because of the merger), The Batman 3, World’s Finest, Swamp Thing, a Constantine reboot, a Justice League Dark series for HBO, a Green Lantern movie alongside more Lanterns seasons, an Aquaman miniseries, and a Flash miniseries for HBO.

By the way, Legion of Super-Heroes was originally planned for 2027, but it might be released earlier—around March or April 2028. Gunn is expected to face criticism for his Superman movie and will likely take it into account to revise his script and figure out what went wrong with certain aspects. Also, The Authority film is being reworked as a Superman sequel, with Matthew Vaughn offering his take on it. Vaughn was among the first to see a cut of Superman and is currently working on the script, which he’s sharing with Gunn for feedback and collaboration.
