There are two types of movies that are made rn.

One type is movies made for streaming services and these seem to be exclusively shit. I mean they're so bland they're barely worth the time to watch them and once you have watched them you instantly forget you have ever done so. I'm not sure what vile magic they're using to generate this effect but it's uncanny.

The second type is where they're still trying to make some sort of movie theater release production thing, but even this is become increasingly stale and boring. Doesn't help that all these end up on streaming services in 2-3 weeks from release anyway. These have also become rare. They're barely even trying to make blockbusters anymore or anything worth paying a ticket for.

Oh yeah and then there's the usual french/foreign stuff where some tralala woman with a big bush gets fucked by some geezer.

It's dire.

Probably got to the point where zoomzooms don't recognize her when she's aimlessly walking around like a homeless person so her entire worldview is shattered.

Same. Hollywood is dead and art movies just got too artsy, slow and long.

I just want to watch enjoyable movies like in the old times. Very few movies today are interesting and fun. Occasional PT Anderson, Lanthimos, Trier, ร–stlund, Garrone, few Korean movies, that's about it.

I feel like I lost my love for cinema.

I tend to re-watch movies much more than seeing ones for the first time, though I watch almost exclusively old movies. The last "new release" I saw was Oppenheimer, that was summer 2023. The last film I saw for the first time was either Metropolis (pic) or Christmas in July, both of which I saw in theaters in the last month or so.

>i haven't watched a single movie this year that i hadn't previously watched

I've watched a couple of new tv series but most of them sucked, so I'm rewatching old stuff.
